Backstage News On Matt Riddle Following His Return – Matt Riddle is set to work for both main roster brands moving forward.
Riddle made his surprise return on last week’s RAW, taking out The Miz during an in-ring segment. He then appeared on Friday’s SmackDown, saving Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Sami Zayn from an attack by Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa. Riddle stood tall with Zayn to end the show.
In an update, a new report from PWInsider notes that current plans have Riddle working pretty much every RAW, SmackDown and non-televised live event moving forward now that he is back.
Riddle, who is still a member of the official RAW roster, will make his return to live events this Saturday in Rio Rancho, NM, then the next night in El Paso, TX.
In the vlog, Riddle noted that on this next run, he wants to be more serious, and show less of his goofy side.
Discussing his plans for his character, Riddle said:
“Before I left, I beat Seth (Rollins) in a Fight Pit Match in the main event of Extreme Rules.
“Instead of kinda keeping that ride on, I kinda went back into goofy Riddle mode. And I feel like this time around, it’s still me, I’m always gonna be me, but I wanna bring a more serious side to it.
“You know, I’ve been working out a lot, I’ve been training a lot of jiu-jitsu. I just got my black belt.
“And I wanna really showcase my skills and my expertise and show the world I’m also one of the top fighters in the world and I can take anybody on in this company.”
Riddle will make his in-ring return on tonight’s RAW as he faces The Miz in singles action.
