MLW Underground Results (3/21) – We waste no time in getting started in what will be the biggest “Underground” to date as fans will finally see the long-awaited second World Title fight between Jacob Fatu and Alex Hammerstone!
MATCH 1
MLW World Heavyweight Championship
Jacob Fatu vs. Alex Hammerstone (c)
The bell sounds and Fatu immediately goes on the attack by getting Hammer in his respective corner. He gets some shots in on the champ before the action spills to the outside.
Fatu stays on the offensive by sending Hammer hard into the barricade. Fatu throws Hammer back in the ring but Hammer sends him right back out with a lariat. YBH returns the favor by tossing Fatu into a guardrail as well before he gorilla presses The Samoan Werewolf back into the ring! The two men slug it out before we head to break.
Back from it, Hammer catches Fatu with an exploder suplex in the corner. He then lays Fatu out with a running shotgun dropkick and soon nails a textbook belly-to-belly. Hammer then capitalizes it with a Northern Lights suplex: 1-2-no!
Fatu finds a window when he thrust kicks Hammer to the outside and then topes on top of the champ. The Werewolf ain’t done as he hits an Asai Moonsault. He sends Hammer back in for a Swanton Bomb and covers: 1-2-kickout!
Fatu hoists Hammer up on his shoulders but Hammer wriggles free, breaks several clotheslines and levels Fatu out with a clothesline!
The two duke it out on the apron and Hammer nails Fatu with a DVD on the outside of the ring! Hammer was far from done as he nails an absolutely beautiful dropkick across the ring that sends Fatu crashing into the opposite turnbuckle. Hammer then hits Fatu with a TKO! He covers: 1-2-no!
The two battle on and hits another thrust kick before doing an Alley-Use! He hits his patented moonsault! 1-2-no!
We go to break but after it Fatu grabs a chair meaning all bets are off. He swings at Hammer but he boots Fatu down. Hammer looks at the chair , goes to nail Fatu with it, but Fatu levels him. He goes for the moonsault again, but Hammer gets his knees up! He nails the Nightmare Pendulum: 1-2-no! No one has ever kicked out of the Nightmare Pendulum and Hammer is astounded!
He goes to the outside and pulls out a board from under the ring and leans it in the corner. Fatu corners Hammer in the adjacent corner with strikes and tries to splash him but Hammer moves and delivers a boot to the face. He then duplexes Fatu through the board, hits a Nightmare Pendulum once more and covers: 1-2-3!
WINNER and STILL MLW World Heavyweight Champion: Alex Hammerstone
Philly is in a fever pitch as Hammerstone watches Fatu get to his feet. The Samoan Werewolf offers him a a hand and Hammer takes it.
Respect between the two stars is shown as Fatu exits and Hammer begins to celebrate, but the lights go out and here comes the Calling as they beat down Hammer and hang him up in the ropes. Raven, Akira and Rickey Shane Page are all involved and are relishing the moment.
We join Sam Leterna on stage as she’s joined by Mance Warner and he gets joined by the Second Gear Crew in the 1 Called Manders and Matthew Justice! They make their intentions clear to bring violence to the league. Suddenly, The Calling interrupts the feed.
Big news regarding Battle Riot V which is set to take place once more in Philly – it’s going to air on Reelz Channel!
Leterna’s job isn’t done for the night as out comes Mister Saint Laurent. He says that nobody likes bullying and Real1 is nothing but a bully. Therefore he must go “one-on-one with the Micro one!” When will this fight go down? It’s happening next week!
Taya Valkyrie is beside herself (with John Hennigan) about Cesar Duran being kidnapped, but despite that, she still must fight tonight! Her title match is on NOW.
MAIN EVENT
MLW World Featherweight Championship
Billie Starkz vs. Taya Valkyrie (c)
Taya taunts Billie to start off and turns her back, but Billie rolls her up for a one count! Billie hits an arm drag and then another leading to a bridging pin. That causes Taya to roll to the outside and Billie hits a tope and then a second one on Hennigan!
Back in the ring, Billie ascends up top to go aerial on Valkyrie, but Hennigan shoves her off and we head to break!
Back from it, Taya grabs Billie by the hair and shoves her hard into the ring post!
The fight wages on as the Philly crowd begins to chant “Johnny Douchebag.” Starkz utilizes the corner to hit an enziguri before she hits Taya with a German suplex. Hennigan hopes on the apron and Billie confronts him. Taya gets romantic with Hennigan and Starkz charges but nails Hennigan off the apron. Taya face plants Starkz with her boot and covers, but only for a two count. Billie manages to escape the initial Road To Valhalla, but she manages to nail it and then get the victory.
WINNER and STILL MLW World Featherweight Champion: Taya Valkyrie
Post-fight, Taya relishes in her win but makes a plea for people to tell her the whereabouts of Cesar Duran.
