Tony Khan On Signing Kota Ibushi

Tony Khan On Signing Kota Ibushi – On today’s Busted Open Radio, Dave Lagreca asked Tony Khan how hard he looks at certain free agents when considering on who he should sign. Lagreca mentioned Kota Ibushi as an example.

Khan said, “There’s a lot of great free agents in the world of pro wrestling but certainly Kota Ibushi is a great talent. When you have a name like that, everybody in the world of pro wrestling would be very fortunate to have in their promotion. I really wanted to work with him in the past so I think that’s something we’d certainly have to consider.”

Earlier today, New Japan Pro Wrestling officially announced that Ibushi was no longer with the company:

“With the conclusion of his contract period on January 31 2023, Kota Ibushi has departed New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Ibushi had been recovering from injury since October 2021.

We apologise to Ibushi’s fans for the abrupt announcement, and join them in wishing Ibushi the very best in all his future endeavours.”

Ibushi said in an interview that he thinks he will talk with AEW, but only after opening up a wrestling school in Japan.

Ibushi is booked to work with GCW Bloodsport and GCW Spring Break 7 during WrestleMania weekend.
