As Tony Khan was looking to finalize a distribution deal for ROH, the decision was made to make Chris Jericho the ROH World Champion after he beat Claudio Castagnoli.
Jericho also dropped it back to Claudio at this past Saturday’s Final Battle pay-per-view event, but a fan didn’t like the ending.
Jericho lost the match by tapping out to the Giant Swing. A fan commented on the finish via Twitter by calling it dumb. Jericho didn’t take too kindly to what the fan said:
“Hey f*** face. Ever experienced this move? It’s barbaric. I tapped out..you would’ve s*** your pants and cried for mommy.”
Jericho also wrote on Instagram: “The @claudiocsro Swing is inhumane and barbaric and should be BANNED! I defy ANY ONE OF YOU to not do what I did and tap out in the face of permanent brain damage! #TheOcho #FinalBattle @ringofhonor @aew.”
ROH will begin airing weekly television on the Honor Club streaming service for $9.99 per month. Khan has stated that he plans to tone down the usage of ROH on AEW Dynamite.
