
The latest edition of SmackDown averaged 2.290 million viewers on FOX, which is up from 1.914 million a week ago, according to Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics. In the all-important 18-49 demographic, the show did a 0.57 rating, up from the 0.44 rating a week ago.
The show opened with Vince McMahon doing a short promo on the same day that it was announced he was temporarily stepping down as CEO and Chairman. It was headlined by Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Riddle.
This was the highest viewership since April 1st and best key demo rating since April 8th.
As for AEW Rampage, the show drew 331,000 viewers and a 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic on TNT in the 10 pm ET time slot. Last week the show did 476,000 viewers and a 0.16 rating.
Last week was Rampage’s highest viewership and key demo since April 22nd. This week was the lowest key demo rating ever for Rampage including preemptions. It was also the lowest viewership in its regular timeslot although preempted shows have done worse.
