
WWE confirmed on today’s episode of The Bump that Bianca Belair will defend the Raw Women’s Title against Sonya Deville at WrestleMania Backlash.
The match was set up on Monday’s episode of Raw after Belair beat Zelina Vega in a quick bout. Deville came out to the ring to discuss who Belair’s next opponent would be and ran down a long list of potential title challengers. Belair said she was ready to face any of them.
Deville had an open contract in her hand and Belair signed it without knowing who her opponent would be. This led to Deville attacking her from behind after making it seem like Belair’s opponent was about to make their entrance.
WWE holds the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view event on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Providence, R.I. at Dunkin’ Donuts Center. As previously reported, Brock Lesnar is no longer advertised to work the show. Here is the updated card:
