NXT Roadblock Results (3/08)

We are live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL, as Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez make their way to the ring for our first match of the night.

Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai vs. Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez

Choo starts off with Jade and takes her down. They tangle and Choo apparently goes to sleep in the middle of the ring. Jade quietly walks over to make the tag and in comes Gonzalez, who goes to work on Choo. Gonzalez spins Choo around on her shoulders over and over in the middle of the ring, then slams her for a 2 count. Jade comes back in and works Choo over for another close 2 count.

Choo rams Jade into the corner and in comes Kai. They double team Jade. Choo drops Jade with a kick and Kai follows up with a running boot to the face that barely connects. Jade kicks out at 2. We see Dolin and Jayne have left the Toxic Lounge for some reason. Kai with more offense on Jade for another 2 count, and another.

Kai and Choo with quick tags and more offense on Jade, keeping her in their corner. Fans rally but Jade continues to get double teamed. Choo with a 2 count in the middle of the ring. Jade and Choo block suplex attempts from each other. Choo rams Jade into the corner and takes her down into a submission as Gonzalez rallies fans from the apron. Jade fights up and out. They trade more suplex attempts and roll-ups now, rolling around the ring as the referee tries to stay on them. Choo sends Jade out and hits a baseball slide. Choo follows but Jade rams her into the edge of the apron. Kai is talking to herself when Gonzalez approaches and they have words.

Dolin and Jayne suddenly appear at ringside, taking out Gonzalez with a club to the knee. Gonzalez goes down clutching her knee in pain, yelling out as Kai holds her head and screams “No!” over and over. The referee was distracted and didn’t see the sneak attack by the champs. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and Kai has Jade grounded in the ring. We see what happened before the break when the champs took Gonzalez down at ringside. We also see how trainers checked on Gonzalez during the break but she insisted she wanted to work, and she was cleared to continue. Jade and Kai go at it back in the ring now. Jade with a dropkick. Choo tags back in but Jade unloads on her. Jade with an enziguri.

Gonzalez is finally back to her feet on the apron. Jade with a running knee to Choo in the corner, then another flying knee while Choo is down. Choo kicks out at 2 as fans do dueling chants. Choo counters and slams Jade with a Rock Bottom. Kai tags back in and they hit a double Facebuster on Jade for another 2 count. Gonzalez is up but limping on the apron. Jade finally tags out. Gonzalez with clotheslines to Choo and Kai, but her knee is giving her trouble. Gonzalez with a big powerslam to Kai for a 2 count. Kai with a Scorpion Kick to stun Gonzalez.

Kai with more offense now as she starts talking to herself. Kai charges for the running kick in the corner but she puts on the brakes when she starts hearing voices. She charges again for the kick but Gonzalez caches it and goes for the Chingona Bomb but her knee goes out. They go on and Choo ends up hitting a moonsault on Gonzalez. Kai follows up with a double stomp for the pin to win advance.

Winners: Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai

After the match, Kai and Choo celebrate as the music hits and we go to replays. They have made it to the finals and will face the winners of Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray vs. Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro. Jade and officials check on Gonzalez as she stares up at the Toxic Lounge.

– Tommaso Ciampa is backstage. He says he will become a three-time NXT Champion tonight and that is a legacy he’s very proud of. He says this one feels different, maybe because of the respect he has for Bron Breakker or how Dolph Ziggler has tried to tear up the brand. Ciampa says this one means more than the title. He goes on about being the champion going into Stand & Deliver. He says Breakker and Ziggler can fight over who’s #2 all they want tonight but never has there been such a gap between #1 and #2, and Ciampa is #1. He goes on and gets fired up, then tosses his chair while exiting the room.

– The announcers hype WrestleMania 38 Weekend. We see Tiffany Stratton walking backstage. The default Sarray is seen watching her from the background.

– The camera cuts out to the parking lot and The Creed Brothers are laid out. Officials come check on them, as do the rest of The Diamond Mine – Malcolm Bivens, Ivy Nile and Roderick Strong. Bivens demands to know who did this. The Creed Brothers are checked on as we go back to commercial.

– We are back and the Creeds are being checked out in the training room and we see Raquel Gonzalez being led into the training room as well.

Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley

They lock up and Henley with a wrist lock take down but Stratton with a reversal.  Henley with a take down and Stratton blocks an arm drag.  Stratton gets Henley on her shoulders but Henley escapes and hits a drop kick.  Stratton sends Henley into the ropes and hits a series of running hip strikes against the ropes.  Stratton gets a near fall.  Stratton with  front face lock.  Henley with  chop and forearm.  Henley with a back breaker and clothesline combination.  Henley with an elbow in the corner and she goes for a bulldog but Stratton pushes her away.  Stratton catches Henley and hits a fallaway slam.  

Smoke appears by the entrance and Sarray kicks Stratton in the back of the head.  Henley with a running boot for the three count.

Winner:  Fallon Henley

After the match, Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs celebrate with Fallon.

– We go to Chase University and Andre welcomes everyone.  He says their goal is to perform like they practice.   Andre mentions the entrance from last week and he calls it a clusterf***.  Andre says that cost him the match.  Andre says they turn negatives into positives.  He says Bodhi was a star.  One of the students ask if Bodhi should get his eye checked out.  Andre yells at him and then throws a basketball at him.

We go to commercial.

– Back from the break and we see Trick Williams and NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes hanging out with others at the barber shop. Trick talks about the various wrestlers who Hayes has retained over. Hayes goes on about how he’s been climbing the ladder of success in NXT, rung by rung. Hayes hypes his Ladder Match title defense at Stand & Deliver. Trick suggests they have 4 challengers, and make them all qualify. Hayes agrees. Hayes says he has a mission at Stand & Deliver and that’s to stand at the top of the ladder with his title, and deliver the performance of a lifetime to prove that he is the greatest NXT North American Champion ever. Hayes says The A Champ never misses, and that’s all it is. They start getting their haircuts to end the segment.

– We go to a new episode of “Lashin’ Out” with Lash Legend. She says tonight’s guest wants to talk about it. She introduces her guest and out comes Nikkita Lyons. Lash brings up Lyons’ mom being a groupie. Lyons says her mom taught her not to be judgmental. They have some words and Lash says Lyons may have everyone fooled but she’s not convinced, and Lyons thinks she’s all that because she trends every time she’s on NXT. Lyons tells Lash to get her finger out of her face. Lash accuses her of having butt implants. Lyons says underneath the fake nails and spray tan, she’s all natural, and Lash is full of shit. They face off and keep yelling at each other as security tries to separate them.

– McKenzie Mitchell is backstage with Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner. They insist they didn’t attack The Creed Brothers and say it’s a shame they didn’t get to defend against them tonight. Imperium says they would never take the honor from the sport by using underhanded tactics. They go on until MSK interrupts. MSK offers to fill in for The Creed Brothers tonight, win their titles back, and then give The Creed Brothers a title shot when they’re ready. MSK and Imperium have words to end the segment.

– We go back to the ring and out comes LA Knight for this Falls Count Anywhere match. Knight poses for the crowd and they cheer him on as we go back to commercial.

– We are back and Fallon Henley is in the back with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen.  Fallon talks about the Creeds. They see Legado del Fantasma and accuse them of attacking the Creeds. Legado says they will attack people from the front, not from behind. Brooks and Josh accuse Legado because they lost to The Creeds in the tournament. Elektra sys they won’t deal with a guy who can’t get laid. Brooks says he is trying.

Last Man Standing Match: LA Knight vs. Grayson Waller

Knight attacks Waller in the aisle and punches Waller.  Knight sends Waller into the apron and then he grabs a trash can but Waller kicks Knight and sends him into the railing.  Knight Irish whips Waller into the ring steps.  Knight with an elbow across the chest while Waller hangs over the apron.  Knight with a catapult into the bottom rope and then he sends Waller into the turnbuckles.  Knight kicks Waller in the corner.  Knight with a punch.  Waller hot shots Knight on the top rope.  Waller kicks Knight while Knight tries to get up.   Waller kicks Knight in the back of the leg and connects with an elbow to the back of the neck.  Waller with a cravate and knees.

The referee starts his count but Knight gets back up and Waller with an elbow to the back of the neck.  Waller is sent to the apron and Waller drops Knight on the top rope.  Waller with a rolling cutter to Knight and the referee starts his count.  Knight returns to his feet and Waller gets Knight up on his shoulders but Knight gets back to his feet and he tries for BFT but Waller escapes and connects with a shoulder tackle.  Knight with an Irish whip and he runs into a boot.  Waller goes up top and Knight leaps up and hits a superplex.  Knight with BFT and the referee starts his count.  Waller rolls to the floor to land on his feet to stop the count.  Knight with a clothesline to Waller on the apron.  Waller hits Knight with a trash can.

Waller hits Knight in the back with a trash can lid.  Waller puts Knight in the corner and puts the lid against his head.  Waller kicks the lid into Knight’s head.  Waller goes under the ring for a table.  Knight with a kick to the midsection and punches.  Knight goes for a power bomb on the floor but Waller counters with a back body drop.  Waller punches Knight and connects with elbows to the back of the head.  Knight blocks a trash can lid and hits Waller many times.

They fight to the back and they head to the entrance for the bleachers and Knight with punches.  They end up on the HBalKony.  Waller with a knee and forearm.  Knight punches Waller and both men try to throw the other over the side to the floor.  Waller is on the bad isde of the scaffold and Knight with a punch and Waller falls to the floor.  Knight goes into the crowd to celebrate with the people but we see Sanga carrying Waller into the ring.  Knight hits Sanga with a chair and Sanga with a choke slam onto the apron.

Waller has handcuffs while McKenzie says that the Creeds are not cleared to wrestle in the tag title match, but MSK will take their place.

Knight takes the handcuffs off before they can be locked and Sanga is handcuffed to the ring post.  Knight blocks a punch and connects with clotheslines.  Knight with an Irish whip that sends Waller sternum first into the turnbuckles.  Knight with a neck breaker.  Knight with a power slam.  Waller with a thumb to the eye to stop BFT.  Knight blocks the rolling cutter and Knight drops Waller through the table on the floor that Waller set up earlier in the match.

Waller gets up at nine and then falls back to the floor.  Knight punches Waller.  Knight brings Waller in front of Sanga and grabs a chair.  Knight puts the chair down and kicks Waller.  Knight puts the trash can on Waller and hits it with the chair.  Knight turns his attention to Sanga and hits hi in the back with the chair.  Knight rearranges the announce table and then picks up Waller.  Waller punches Knight with a slapjack.  Waller goes to the turnbuckles and hits an elbow drop through the announce table.  

The referee makes the ten count.

Winner:  Grayson Waller

— Bron Breakker is in the locker room and he says he is walking into this match as the underdog.  Ziggler and Ciampa have the experience and notoriety.  Breakker says he busts his ass in the weight room and in the ring because he loves the business.  He thinks about who had the title before him when he looks at the belt.  He says he will run through the last roadblock before Stand and Deliver.

— We are back for dinner with Tony D’Angelo.  He says he is in his cousin’s restaurant.  His cousin used to be a silent partner and then the owner gets out of the business when it starts to make money.  Tony says the owner had a change of heart.  it is time that NXT runs on his watch.  At Stand and Deliver he will take his shot.  He will become the new Don of NXT.

— We see Edris Enofe and Malik Blade replacing the servers for Mandy.

Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai vs. Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter

Ray and Kayden lock up and Ray with a clean break.  Kayden with a take down and she dances and Kay Lee shows her how.  Ray with a chop and Kayden with a chop.  Ray with an O’Connor Roll but Carter rolls through for a near fall.  Carter with a kick and she gets a near fall.  Kacy tags in and she trips Kay Lee.  Carter with a kick and Kacy with a slingshot senton for a near fall.  Io tags in.  Kacy with a handstand head scissors but Io escpapes.  Kacy with a near fall on a rollup.  Io with a rollup for a near fall.  Kacy with a near fall.  All four women are in the ring and Kacy and Kayden with drop kicks.  Kayden goes to the apron and kicks Ray.

Kacy kicks Io and Kayden with a cross body off the apron.  Kacy with a cross body off the apron.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Io with a reverse chin lock on Kayden but Kayden with a wrist lock take down.  Io misses an elbow drop.  Io misses an elbow in the corner and Io swings at Kacy.  Kayden with a foerarm and Io goes for a slam but Kayden counters with a DDT.  Kacy tags in and connects with forearms and a DDT on Io.  Kacy with punches.  Kacy with a clothesline in the corner and then hits an X Factor for a near fall.  Kacy with a boot to Io and Kayden tags in and hits a spinning back heel kick.  Kayden drops Kacy onto Io.  Io with a drop toe hold that sends Kayden into the ropes and Io with a Tiger Feint Kick.  Io with a missile drop kick for a near fall.
