Dustin Rhodes has announced that his brother Cody Rhodes will not be in Charlotte, NC tomorrow night at Battle of the Belts. Dustin said that Cody won’t be there because of medical protocols.
Dustin then announced that he will face Sammy Guevara tomorrow night for the interim TNT Championship. For those of you that do not follow MMA or boxing the interim title is created when a champion pulls out of the show with the intent of unifying both belts at some point.
They did not say what the medical situation is with Cody but it could be COVID-19 related as Cody posted messages on Instagram and his Community account telling people that they should get vaccinated.
Cody’s message reads:
“Friendly reminded: please get vaccinated. Children…babies…can catch this thing and they don’t deserve that BS.”
Tomorrow’s card will also feature Dr. Britt Baker, DMD defending the AEW Women’s World Champion against Riho. Battle of the Belts will air tomorrow night at 8 pm eastern on TNT.
FTW Champion Ricky Starks will defend his belt against Matt Sydal.
