Wilder Win Could Open Fury’s Path Back to WWE

Wilder Win Could Open Fury’s Path Back to WWE
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – OCTOBER 11: Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury is introduced at a WWE news conference at T-Mobile Arena on October 11, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fury will face WWE wrestler Braun Strowman and WWE champion Brock Lesnar will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez at the WWE’s Crown Jewel event at Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 31. World heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has previously hinted that his WWE career may well have been more extensive than it currently is. World events and the subsequent cancellation of most professional sport in 2020 has seen a delay to a return to pro wrestling for the Gypsy King.

That could all change in the light of recent events with Fury beating Deontay Wilder in their third fight and no obvious challenger on the Englishman’s radar.

Deontay Dispatched

The fight that Tyson Fury, and the whole of the British boxing fanbase want to see is an all-UK encounter against Anthony Joshua. The Gypsy King had AJ in his sights before Deontay Wilder’s camp stepped in and triggered a trilogy fight between Fury and their man.

Meanwhile, Joshua went off to take on Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk with Fury still in his sights assuming that both men would win their respective bouts. It didn’t quite go as planned with AJ losing to Usyk and the most likely next step is a rematch for those two.

So what next for Tyson Fury? There are many options within the boxing ring and the sportsbooks already have betting markets up for a future tussle with Anthony Joshua. Perhaps not surprisingly, considering their recent results, the best betting sites for 2021, according to sbo.net, have the Gypsy King as clear favourite to win that prospective contest.

There are other options relating to Tyson Fury and sbo.net will supply additional odds as soon as any fight is confirmed. Other betting markets available will include Method of Victory and whether or not the bout will go the distance.

Readers can also take in news and opinion articles while it’s also possible to take their interest a stage further. All of the recommended panel of sportsbooks are taking on new customers and it should be possible to take advantage of some generous welcome offers.

A selection of funding options can get that new account off and running while the potential to live stream some wrestling is among the list of other possible benefits. It’s a one stop shop for betting on all combat sports but will Tyson Fury’s next battle take place inside or outside of the boxing ring?

The Time is Right

While boxing opponents are tentatively lined up, Tyson Fury is facing an extended period of rest and this could be the perfect time to announce a return to professional wrestling. In the aftermath of that victory over Deontay Wilder, Fury announced himself as the greatest boxer of his generation. He said that he felt sorry for his rivals as he was the best and there was no way for them to overcome him.

It’s easy to come to the conclusion that Fury is waiting for Anthony Joshua but his British rival is likely to face a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk before he does anything else. With AJ otherwise occupied, the list of other potential challengers is withering.

The promoters and public have had their fill of Fury v Wilder and that chapter is hopefully closed. Oleksandr Usyk could prove to be a serious challenger but, as we have seen, he’s most likely to be engaged in a mandatory rematch with Anthony Joshua.

While all this is going on, Tyson Fury is left to bide his time so it must be a perfect opportunity to renew old acquaintances at WWE.

Support from Within

Fury received support from within the WWE ahead of his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder. The Undertaker was among those who sent a message and the wrestling star ‘begged the Englishman to smash his opponent’.

Current WWE man Braun Strowman was quiet by comparison but it’s believed that he remains eager to renew their rivalry within the organization. Back in October 2019, an edition of Friday Night Smackdown saw Fury overcome Strowman with a devastating punch and a competent all-round debut.

Since then, there has been plenty of verbals between the two men but no sign yet that Fury is ready to resume his WWE career. The Gypsy King has, however, hinted at a return in the future and, with no clear boxing opponent on the horizon, this could be his moment.
