When Wrestlers Were Told About Their WWE Draft Status

WWE SmackDown Preview - WWE Draft Night 1

There was a slight change to how the wrestlers found out about their WWE Draft status.

In previous years, the top guys would be told ahead of time that they were switching brands but most of the talent found out at the same time as the fans watching at home.

That changed this year because the company gave the wrestlers a heads up shortly before their names were announced. PWInsider reports that the talents that were switching brands were told shortly before the announcements were made so they were not surprised or caught off guard.

In other news from SmackDown, Hit Row’s Top Dolla defeated Cedric Alexander in a dark match before the live broadcast.

As noted earlier, Brock Lesnar pre-taped the backstage segment that aired later in the show and he left right after the opening segment.

The WWE Draft continues this Monday night on Raw.
