The numbers are in for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage.
PWTorch is reporting that last Friday’s AEW Rampage drew 578,000 viewers. That is a nice jump from the previous week’s 502,000 viewers and more impressive because they went up against a loaded SmackDown.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FS1 drew 866,000 viewers.
AEW tied WWE in the key 19-49 demo with a 0.24 rating and they tied in the 18-34 male demo with a 0.20 rating. In the 18-49 male demo, AEW beat WWE 0.34 to 0.32.
SmackDown ranked #3 among the top 150 shows on cable while AEW was #4. Here is the full demographic breakdown:
Viewers 18-49 – Rampage: 0.24 / SmackDown: 0.24
Female viewers 18-49 – Rampage: 0.14 / SmackDown: 0.16
Male viewers 18-49 – Rampage: 0.34 / SmackDown: 0.32
Viewers 18-34 – Rampage: 0.17 / SmackDown: 0.15
Female viewers 12-34 – Rampage: 0.10 / SmackDown: 0.10
Male viewers 12-34 – Rampage: 0.16 / SmackDown: 0.20
Viewers 25-54 – Rampage: 0.28 / SmackDown: 0.28
Viewers 50+ – Rampage: 0.21 / SmackDown: 0.43
That is beyond impressive for AEW considering the competition and their timeslot. The quarter numbers are not out yet but when they are available, it will be interesting to see what the numbers were for 10 pm to 10:30 pm when AEW and WWE were directly competing against each other.
SmackDown will return to FOX next week before going back to FS1 on October 29th. Instead of an extended 30-minutes, Talking Smack will go head-to-head with Rampage on this date.
