The latest update on the status of Daniel Bryan in WWE is that he is resting up at home with his family but people high up in WWE are very hopeful (one official is very confident) about Bryan returning to action.
According to WrestlingNews.co, “there is no bad blood, no grudge from either side and Vince thinks he will be back but he just needs time to recharge his batteries.”
The source said that he doesn’t think money is an issue on either side and the company has treated him well since he was cleared in 2018 after concussion-related issues forced him to retire a few years prior.
“We are ready to have him back in a big match at SummerSlam,” the source said. “Vince loves the guy and he has a full-time job behind-the-scenes ready for him when the time comes for him to retire.”
WWE has been trying for months to get Bryan to sign a new deal. His contract expired just over a week ago after he lost to Universal Champion Roman Reigns on SmackDown. Per the storyline, he is “banished” from SmackDown but the company is open to Bryan working on any brand and that includes returning to SmackDown to pick up his feud with Reigns.
