Released WWE Stars Featured In New Slammiversary Video

For the second straight year, Impact Wrestling is teasing that some former WWE stars could be headed back to Impact.

On Thursday, Impact announced they would hold their Slammiversary pay-per-view event Saturday, July 17th.  The last 15 seconds or so of the video to announce the date had some interesting wrestlers seen.

Recently released WWE stars Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, and Mickie James were shown. Also, footage of NJPW stars Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito from their stints in the promotion was shown. Impact does have a working relationship with NJPW.

These wrestlers were among the ten wrestlers that were released by WWE back in April. Their 90-day non-compete clause expires in July. Thus, they will be able to make the show and sign with the promotion should they decide to do so.

Last year, Impact started doing this as Eric Young, Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, Kurt Angle, and EC3 were just some of the names seen in various commercials. Young, Gallows, Anderson, EC3, and Heath Slater ended up joining the promotion.

It should be noted that Impact did air a similar commercial during the Rebellion PPV event with the three stars mentioned above. This new video includes that footage in addition to the confirmation of the date.
