Andrew Zarian from the Mat Men Podcast, who has nailed a ton of WWE news, is reporting that Cardi B will be the host for WWE SummerSlam.
The company will also use Cardi B’s “Up” as the official SummerSlam theme song. WWE fans were treated to a hype video for SummerSlam during SmackDown. SummerSlam’s official theme song made its first appearance in that video.
Cardi B has talked about being a fan of WWE during the days when names like Eddie Guerrero and Booker T were wrestling.
Cardi also had a Twitter exchange with Lacey Evans earlier this year and she also expressed interest in doing something with WWE in the future. That led to speculation that she could appear at WrestleMania, which ended up not happening. It’s unlikely that Cardi B will get physical in the ring.
WWE announced today that SummerSlam will happen on Saturday, August 21st and the location will be announced in a few days. It has been heavily rumored that they will be running at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas but that has not been confirmed by WWE.
