AEW Double Or Nothing – Inner Circle Accepts Pinnacles Challenge, Sting In Action, More

Inner Circle Accepts Pinnacles Challenge, Sting In Action & More Announced For AEW Double Or Nothing

Inner Circle Accepts Pinnacles Challenge – As seen on tonight’s AEW Dynamite episode, The Inner Circle officially accepted MJF’s challenge to take on the Pinnacle in the marquee matchup, which debuted one year ago at Double or Nothing 2020. At that event The Elite bested the Inner Circle, with Kenny Omega picking up the win after hitting Sammy Guevara with a One-Winged Angel off the bleachers.

The added stipulation this time around is that if the Inner Circle loses, they must break up forever.

First, in a taped segment, MJF and the Pinnacle sat down for a classy dinner, and the group’s leader warned that the Stadium Stampede match would be the end of the Inner Circle.

Later in the show, Jericho and his stablemates came to the ring. The members of the group expressed their interest in the match, and Sammy Guevara took the chance to insult the Pinnacle. Hager said he felt like the group doesn’t have a choice in the matter because it needs to protect its reputation. Finally, Jericho wondered whether the risk of being forced to break the stable up was worth it. But he explained that he’ll never be the same because of MJF, so the potential consequence is indeed worth it.

He then vowed that hell is coming for The Pinnacle at AEW Double or Nothing.

Sting In Action At AEW Double Or Nothing

Also tonight, it was announced that The Icon Sting and former TNT champion Darby Allin will be taking on Ethan Page and Scorpion Sky in tag team action at the May 30th Double or Nothing pay per view. This will be Sting’s first live match back since his arrival at last December’s Winter Is Coming special, and his second bout following the Revolution cinematic match against Team Taz.

Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston will be challenging The Young Bucks

Before this week’s show goes off the air, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston brawled with The Young Bucks. Mox puts Matt Jackson of the Bucks to sleep with a sleeper-hold, while Kingston does the same to Nick Jackson with a rear-naked choke. After they put them to sleep, Mox and Kingston steal the Jordan’s off of the feet of The Young Bucks.

Tony Schiavone announces that it has been confirmed by Tony Khan that Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston will be challenging The Young Bucks for the tag-team titles.

Next Friday’s Dynamite (special night at 10 pm ET) will have an announcement on the Buy In pre-show match.
