WWE RAW Results – March 22, 2021 – We’re live from the WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, as Bobby Lashley makes his way to the ring for his NON title match against Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior is out next!

Sheamus vs. Bobby Lashley

They lock up and Lashley with a front face lock.  Sheamus backs Lashley into the ropes and Sheamus with a break.  They lock up and Sheamus with a wrist lock.  Sheamus with a front face lock but Lashley backs Sheamus into the ropes to force a break.  They lock up and Lashley goes for a punch in the corner but Sheamus blocks it and he punches Lashley.  Lashley fires back with punches.  Lashey runs into a boot and Sheamus with a clothesline and forearm in the corner.  Sheamus with kicks.  Sheamus with forearms and he goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Lashley blocks it and Lashley with a suplex.  

Lashley with a neckbreaker. He grounds Sheamus with another headlock. Sheamus fights up and out but Lashley knees him, then works him over with right hands. Lashley sends Sheamus to the apron but Sheamus drops him over the top rope. We see Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Business also at ringside. Sheamus tangles with Lashley but gets clotheslined on the apron. Lashley and Cedric distract the referee while Shelton levels Sheamus with a big clothesline on the floor. We go back to commercial with Lashley in control.

We are back and Lashley with a reverse chin lock on Sheamus.  Sheamus with elbows and a kick.  Lashley with a power slam for a near fall.  Lashley tells Cedric to get off the apron and that allows Sheamus to get a near fall with a rollup.  Lashley runs shoulder first into the ring post when Sheamus moves.  Sheamus with running double sledges.  Lashley with punches and Lashley is sent to the apron and Sheamus with forearms to the back.  Sheamus with forearms on the apron and then he sends Lashley to the floor. Sheamus goes up top and hits a clothesline off the turnbuckles.  Sheamus goes up top and he hits a clothesline for a near fall.  

Lashley with a punch to the midsection and he gets Sheamus but Sheamus lands on his feet and he connects with a knee for a near fall.  Lashley avoids a Brogue Kick and Sheamus is distracted by Cedric and Lashley with a spinebuster.  Lashley with the full nelson and Sheamus and the ref calls for the bell.

Winner:  Bobby Lashley

After the match, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander attack Sheamus on the floor. Drew McIntyre’s music plays and he punches Shelton while Cedric witih some lackluster punches to Sheamus.  Drew sends Cedric into the ringside barrier and then over the ringside barrier.  Drew wants a piece of Shelton but he backs off.  Drew gets into the ring and Lashley holds up his title belt.  Drew says he will wait until Wrestlemania with the big entrances.  Porter holds Lashley back but Drew dares Bobby to throw the first punch.  Porter tells Lashley to keep emotion out of this, it is business.

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin walk in the back and they see Bobby Lashley.  Lashley wants to know what that was.  Cedric says it was the Hurt Business.  Lashley says it was not a Hurt Business match.  MVP says that Cedric and Shelton made it look like Lashley couldn’t beat Sheamus on his own.  Porter wants to know what they are going to do after embarrassing Lashley.

— We have a video package for Randy Orton and The Fiend 2.0.

— Asuka makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

— We are back with Peyton Royce’s comments from Raw Talk a few weeks ago.

Asuka vs. Peyton Royce in a Non Title Match

They lock up and go around the ring.  Royce with a side head lock and take down.  Asuka with a head scissors and Peyton escapes.  Asuka with a side head lock and Royce with punches.  Asuka floats over and she dances.  Asuka with a shoulder tackle.  Royce with a sunset flip but Asuka rolls through.  Asuka misses a knee and Royce with a take down.  Royce with a wrist lock but Asuka with a cross arm breaker.  Royce escapes and applies a heel hook and bridges.  Asuka with a kick to escape.

Royce sends Asuka into the turnbuckels and connects with an elbow.  Royce with a suplex and she floats over for a near fall.  Royce gets a boot up and Royce avoids Asuka on the apron.  Royce is sent to the apron and Asuka with a spinning back fist.  Asuka misses a Hip attack in the ropes and Royce with a kick and she sends Asuka to the floor as we go to commercial.

We are back and both women are down and Royce gets to her feet first.  Asuka with a drop kick and pop up knee.  Asuka with a hip attack and a German suplex.  Asuka with a running knee for a near fall.  Asuka goes up top and misses a missile drop kick  Royce goes for a German suplex but Asuka with a back elbow.  Royce with a Widow’s Peak for a near fall.  Asuka with the Asuka Lock but Royce drops down and gets a near fall with a rollup.  Royce misses a spinning heel kick and Asuka with a Codebreaker for a near fall.

Asuka puts Royce on the turnbuckles.  Asuka and Royce exchange forearms and Asuka is sent to the mat.  Royce with a double stomp and she gets a near fall.  Rocye shows some frustration and starts to yell at the referee.  Asuka with a thrust kick and Asuka with a cross arm breaker and then she turns it into the Asuka Lock and Royce taps out.

Winner:  Asuka

After the match, Rhea Ripley’s music plays and she makes her way to the ring.  

Rhea makes her way into the ring and she has something to say.  Rhea tells Asuka she is one of the greatest women’s champions in WWE History.  You have proven your point.  Last I saw, Charlotte Flair was challenging you for the Title while you were recovering from having your teeth knocked out.  Charlotte isn’t here and she is recovering from COVID.  Rhea says she is gonna need an answer.  On her first official night on Raw, I challenge you to a championship match at (points to the sign) WRESTLEMANIA.

Asuka takes the mic and she says something in Japanese and says that Rhea is not ready for Asuka.  Asuka says she accepts the challenge.

Backstage:

Drew McIntyre walks in the back and Adam Pearce talks to Drew about the match last night and he wants to know why Drew came out eawrlier.  Drew says they fought each other for weeks, but I am not going to stand idly by when Sheamus is attacked. Adam says that the Hurt Business wants a handicap match against Drew.  Adam wants to run it by Drew before making a decision. Drew says Lashley did whatever it took to win the title and he will do everything to keep the title.  If I win tonight, Shelton and Cedric will be banned from ringside.

— We go to commercial with the ring being set up for MizTV.

Miz TV:

It is time for MizTV and Miz and John Morrison make their way to the ring.  

Miz says before we discuss Wrestlemania, Miz mentions he has had a few strenuous weeks and he did not have to be mocked by Damian Priest and Bad Bunny.  Miz says that Bad Bunny is a huge star and Grammy Award Winner.  Miz asks Bad Bunny who do you think you are?  You waltz around here and it is one thing to do a special performance but you hang around backstage with your bouncer friend Damian Priest and you show no respect to him.

Miz points out that he is a two time Grand Slam Champion.  He asks John who else is a two time Grand Slam Champion.  Morrison says not John Cena, Brock Lesnar, or Undertaker.  

Miz says he has been the backbone of WWE for 15 plus years.  Miz mentions Morrison’s accolades and he says they don’t get the respect they deserve.  Miz shows the poster for Wrestlemania.  Morrison says they have thirty years of in ring experience and they are not on the poster.  Miz says a musician who has had a cup of coffee on Raw is on the poster for the most significant event of the year.  Miz tells Bad Bunny that you wanted my attention and you got it.

Miz shows what happened last week with Bad Bunny.

Miz says that is a lesson to any musician, actors, or sports stars who think they can do what we do.  You cannot come in and waltz all over us.  MIz says their guests are hiding in fear.

Miz says on a special edition of the Dirt Sheet, it will be the world premiere of their new song and it is dedicated to Bad Bunny.

Miz says next week will be the last time you hear Bad Bunny.  You might be at the top of the music world, but this is our domain.  I will make Wrestlemania your worst nightmare.  I am challenging you to a match at Wrestlemania.  I will not just end your music career, I will end your career.

Jeff Hrdy makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

The Miz vs. Jeff Hardy

Before the match starts, Hardy says we know that when things get tough, you will have Morrison interfere for you so why not send Morrison to the back and prove that you can beat me on your own.  Miz sends Morrison to the back and Hardy is impressed.

They lock up and Miz with a forearm to the back and punch.  Hardy with an elbow and he sends Miz into the turnbuckles and goes around the ring.  Hardy with a sit out jaw breaker and Miz with a boot to the head.  Miz with a boot to the chest and forearm to the back of the head.  Miz chokes Hardy in the ropes.  Miz with a boot to the back of the head.  Miz kicks Hardy and gets a near fall.  Hardy with punches to Miz and Miz with a knee to the midsection.  Miz with knees to the back followed by a forearm and reverse chin lock.  Hardy with elbows and a mule kick.  Hardy with punches.  Hardy with a running forearm and reverse atomic drop and leg drop.

Hardy with a drop kick and splash for a near fall.   Miz with an Irish whip but Hardy gets his boots up and then Hardy goes to the turnbuckles for a splash and gets a near fall.  Hardy sets for the Twist of Fate but Miz escapes and he sends Hardy shoulder first into the ring post and hits a Skull Crushing Finale for the three count.

Winner:  The Miz

After the match, Bad Bunny hits Miz from behind with a guitar.  Bad Bunny tells Miz that he accepts Miz’ challenge… bitch.

— AJ Styles and Omos walk in the back.  Riddle rides past on his scooter and AJ says he will make the New Day look really bad tonight. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and AJ Styles says it is going to happen.  AJ Styles and Omos against The New Day at Wrestlemania and it will be Omos’ debut and it will be for the Raw Tag Team Championships.  Can it be better?  It can because you will be teaming with one of the greatest in WWE history.  AJ says he cannot wait to see what Omos does to Kofi and Xavier and he expect Omos to send them through the ring.   At Wrestlemania, they will defeat the New Day and become tag champs.  They cannot lose.  

Kofi asks if AJ said that him and Omos were going to beat them for the Tag Titles at Wrestlemania?  Woods says that AJ said they would bury them like in the Boneyard match and become the champions.  Kofi says that to become a champion team, don’t you have to be a team first?  Kofi says he does not see a team.  He sees a wee man who is tryiing to overcompensate for his lack of size.  A wee man who hides behind a giant of a man to do all of his evil bidding.

AJ tells Kofi to shut his mouth. Kofi wants to know what will AJ do?  Are you going to send Omos after him? Woods says that AJ is going to bring Omos down. AJ says he will take care of Omos.  

Kofi says Omos doesn’t know AJ.  Kofi asks AJ what is Omos’ favorite color and AJ says red.  Omos says it is mauve.  Woods asks what is his favorite ice cream flavor.  AJ says vanilla and Omos says peanut butter.  They ask AJ who is Omos’ favorite superstar.  AJ says it is him and Omos says Andre the Giant.

AJ tells Kofi to get in the ring so he can kick his butt in a preview of WrestleMania. AJ does The New Day dance to the tune of “AJ, rocks” and tries to get Omos in on it but Omos looks uncomfortable. The two sides look on as we go back to commercial.

AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi blocks a kick and then takes AJ down with a side head lock.  Kofi holds on with the side head lock when AJ tries to send Kofi off the ropes.  AJ gets a near fall with a rollup.  Kofi with another side head lock take down.  Kofi gets a near fall.  Kofi with a side head lock take down.  Kofi returns to the side head lock and AJ with a side head lock.  Kofi with a jumping back elbow for a near fall.  Kofi backs AJ into the corner and Kofi with a punch.

Kofi is sent to the floor and AJ goes for a pescado but Kofi gets back into the ring and Kofi with a European uppercut.  Kofi with a monkey flip and he gets a near fall.  Kofi with a chop in the corner.  AJ with an Irish whip and Kofi with a missile drop kick and body scissors for a near fall.  Kofi with a drop kick that sends AJ to the floor in front of Omos.  AJ pulls Kofi to the floor and Kofi with a forearm.  AJ with a double thrust to the throat and Kofi is sent into the ring steps.  Omos blocks Woods from checking on Kofi and we go to commercial.

We are back and Kofi with punches but AJ with a back elbow.  AJ with a reverse chin lock.  Kofi with clotheslines to AJ and a drop kick.  Kofi with a jumping clothesline and he sets for the Boom Drop.  Kofi sets for Trouble in Paradise but AJ with an enzuigiri to stop Kofi.  AJ gets to his feet first and then he misses a splash and hits the turnbuckles and a pendulum kick from Kofi.  Kofi goes up top and AJ stops Kofi.  AJ sets for a superplex.  Kofi blocks the superplex but Kofi sends AJ face first to the mat.  Kofi with Shadows Over Hell to AJ and he gets a near fall.  Kofi with a scorpion kick and AJ with a Calf Crusher.

Kofi gets to the ropes to force AJ to release the hold.  Kofi with a sunset flip for a near fall.  AJ with a drop kick to the knee.  AJ goes to the apron for a Phenomenal Forearm and Woods gets AJ to slip on the ropes when he plays the trombone.  Omos is apparently not a trombone fan.  Kofi blocks the Phenomenal Forearm and Kofi with SOS for the three count.

Winner:  Kofi Kingston

Backstage:

Sheamus walks in the back and he is ambushed by Kevin Patrick.  Sheamus is asked about his match against Bobby Lashley earlier tonight.  Sheamus says he does not back down from a challenge.  He does not walk away from a fight.  Sheamus says that he doesn’t know him if he asks that question.  Sheamus is asked about why did Drew come out to help.  Sheamus says that is respect.  He says he cannot stand Drew and . . . 

Riddle shows up and he is on his scooter and he asks Sheamus many questions.  Sheamus stops Riddle and he wants to know what is he doing.  Sheamus asks Riddle if the scooter is easy to ride.  Sheamus hits Riddle with the scooter.

If McIntyre Wins, Shelton and Cedric are Banned from Ringside at Wrestlemania

Drew will start with Shelton and Drew with a kick and punch.  Drew with a kick and chop in the corner.  Drew with a back elbow.  Drew with a deadlift suplex for a near fall.  Drew brings Cedric into the ring and he chops Cedric and then Irish whips Cedric and almost sends Cedric into the C ring with a back body drop.  Benjamin with a waist lock take down.  Shelton with a forearm to the back and Drew with a clothesline.  Drew stomps on the hand.  Drew sends Shelton into the turnbuckles and then Drew with an Irish whip but he runs into an uppercut from Shelton.

Shelton with punches.  Shelton with an Irish whip but Drew with a clothesline.  Shelton is pulled to the floor by Cedric.  Drew goes to the floor and Drew punches Shelton while Cedric warns Shelton.  Drew sends Shelton into the ring post.  Drew drops Shelton onto the ringside barrier and then they return to the ring.  Drew with a forearm.  Shelton with a knee and Cedric tags in and he runs into a back elbow and then Drew punches Shelton.  Cedric clips Drew and Benjamin kicks Drew to the floor.  Cedric with a suicide dive and Benjamin tags in and the both go after Drew and sends him into the ringside barrier.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Cedric punches Drew but Drew with forearms.  Drew pushes Cedric into the corner and Shelton tags in.  Cedric with a drop kick to the knee and Shelton with a running knee for a near fall.  Cedric tags in and Cedric with a jumping knee and then he gets a near fall.  Cedric with elbows to the back.  Benjamin tags in and they connect with knees.  Shelton with more knees and forearms.  Shelton with a reverse chin lock.  Shelton with kicks to Drew.  Shelton and Drew exchange forearms and Drew with a kick.  Shelton with a dragon whip and Drew with a head butt and both men are down.  

Cedric tags in and he runs into clotheslines and Drew with an overhead belly-to-belly throw and he does it again to Cedric.  Drew with a Future Shock DDT to Benjamin.  Drew finishes the combo with a neck breaker.  Drew with a Claymore to Benjamin.  Cedric with a kick to Drew but Drew with a Claymore for the three count.

Winner:  Drew McIntyre

After the match, Drew has earned the right to have Cedric and Shelton banned from ringside at WrestleMania 37 when he challenges WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Drew sits up and looks at the WrestleMania 37 sign as his music hits. We go to replays. Drew poses in the corner and looks up at the sign while yelling out.

Backstage:

We are back and MVP is with Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.  He talks about how he helped Bobby when Bobby didn’t want help.  Then you face Drew in a 2 on 1 match and couldn’t beat them.  

Bobby Lashley shows up and says he will find someone who will. Bobby Lashley walks into the 24/7 Locker Room and he tells them that if they take out Drew McIntyre he will take care of them.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax

Lana and Naomi join the announcers for the next match

Mandy attacks Shayna from behind as the bell rings and Mandy runs Shayna into the corner.  Dana tags in and Mandy with a slam and Dana with a twisting splash for a near fall while Reginald has Nia mystified.  Shayna with a back breaker to Dana.  Dana with a rollup when Nia is distracted.  Dana bumps into Nia on the kick out.  Shayna with a Kirifuda Clutch and Mandy drop kicks Shayna.  Nia tags in and Dana with a handspring elbow into the corner.  Nia with a clothesline.  

Reginald rolls into the ring to avoid Mandy.  Nia with a head butt and Reginald flips around the in the ring for no reason at all.  Dana with a drop kick to the leg and Mandy tags in and hits a bulldog.  Mandy gets a near fall.  Dana tags in and Shayna stops Mandy.  Reginald gets on the apron and that distracts Dana.  Shayna with a forearm to Mandy and Nia with a Samoan Drop for a near fall.

Winners:  Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

— We go to Alexa’s Playground.  Bliss says she knows Randy wanted her out of his life, but she is still here and so is HE.  You can’t always get what you want.  Tonight, I’d be careful what you wish for.

In the Arena:

We are back and Elias is in the ring with Jaxson Ryker and their new best friend Shane McMahon.

Shane says a lot of people are upset with what didn’t happen at Fastlane.  If he didn’t hurt his knee, he would have wiped up the floor wtih Braun.  That match will happen when his knee heals up.  Shane says Elias didn’t get the job done.

Elias starts to talk and Shane tells him never to interrupt him again.  Shane says that is why Elias will be facing Braun tonight.  Shane says they have a song they wrote together called Braun is Stupid.

After the song, Braun Strowman makes his way to the ring. Braun takes the mic and says they must think they’re funny. He doesn’t care if Shane has a peg leg because an ass whooping is coming his way. Braun also has a song for Elias, which he’s probably familiar with. It’s called “The Man Who Got These Hands.” Braun heads to the ring as we go back to commercial.

Braun Strowman vs. Elias

Braun backs Elias into the corner and punches Elias.  Braun sends Elias into the turnbuckles.  Braun with a forearm across the chest.  Braun with a head butt and he chokes Elias in the corner.  Braun sees Shane on the floor but that does not stop Braun from giving Elias a hard Irish whip.  Braun with a kick to the ribs.  Braun chokes Elias in the ropes.  Braun sends Elias to the floor in front of Shane.  Braun sends Elias back into the ring and Braun gets back into the ring and Elias with a jumping knee and punches in the corner.  

Elias runs into a drop kick and Braun punches Ryker.  Braun goes to the floor for the Wacky Lap and he hits Ryker and Elias and he has SOUND EFFECTS.  Braun sends Elias back into the ring and he runs into a boot but Strowman blocks it and he punches Elias and hits a power slam for the three count.

Winner:  Braun Strowman

After the match, Shane hits Braun in the back with the crutch.  Shane realizes that his life could be over and he runs out of the ring. Braun says it looks like Shane’s knee is fine with him running with his tail tucked between his legs.  Braun says he is sick of these games and he is sick of chasing him.   Braun promises he will end this.  He asks Shane if he is man enough to face him one on one at Wrestlemania. Shane accepts the challenge and he tells Braun to pick whatever type of match he wants because he will win because Braun is stupid. Shane shuffles before Braun starts to go up the ramp and Shane goes to the back.

— Randy Orton walks in the back and he has a black bag with him. We go to commercial.

— We are back and on Night One of Wrestlemania, we will have the WWE Championship Match featuring Bobby Lashley defending against Drew McIntyre.  We will also have the Smackdown Women’s Championship Match with Sasha Banks facing Bianca Belair.  Miz will face Bad Bunny on Saturday as well.

On Night Two, we will have the Universal Championship Match with Roman Reigns facing Edge.  We will also see the Raw Women’s Championship Match with Asuka defending her title against Rhea Ripley.

In the Arena:

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring and he has a bag with him.

Orton takes the mic and says it seems like just yesterday when he watched “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt burn alive at WWE TLC, but apparently he didn’t get the job done because he smelled the same burnt flesh at Fastlane last night. Orton doesn’t know what he saw at Fastlane but he saw an abomination. So tonight he will finish the job After tonight there will be no more mind games, no more Alexa Bliss, no more Fiend. The bulls–t comes to an end tonight. Some fans boo Orton.

The music interrupts and out comes Bliss with her jack-in-the-box with a pentagram on it. She says she warned Orton to be careful what he wished for. She winds the box up as Orton looks on. A creepy looking figure pops out of the box. The lights start going out in the ThunderDome. It’s all black in the arena now. The ring explodes with flames coming out of the ring posts. The Fiend is behind Orton as his familiar menacing sounds start up.

Orton turns around and stares at The Fiend from across the ring now. Orton drops to one knee and grabs the bag he brought to the ring with him. He pulls out a can of gasoline. The menacing sounds of The Fiend continue to play as he stares Orton down. Orton approaches The Fiend with the gas can, and pours some on him. Orton stops and starts pouring more gas on The Fiend, who just stands there without moving. Orton wipes his hands clean and grabs a pack of matches. Orton approaches The Fiend and drops him with the RKO in the middle of the ring. The sounds stop.

Orton yells out and stands back up as some fans boo. Bliss enters the ropes now but stops in her tracks as Orton stares her down. The Fiend is on his feet now. Orton turns around and charges but The Fiend applies the Mandible Claw. The Fiend manhandles Orton with the Mandible and then drops him with Sister Abigail in the middle of the ring. Bliss starts jumping around and laughing. Bliss points up at the WrestleMania 37 sign as flames start shooting up around it. The Fiend’s music plays as he yells out and poses with Bliss. We go to replays.

We come back and the announcers announce Orton vs. The Fiend for WrestleMania 37. The Fiend and Bliss continue posing in the middle of the ring as their music plays. RAW goes off the air.
