More WWE Releases, Timothy Thatcher Makes NXT Debut, Big Matches Announced for Next Week
- Timothy Thatcher debuted on this week's WWE NXT episode on the USA Network.

The main event saw Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher successfully defend the NXT Tag Team Titles over Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong of The Undisputed Era.

This was Thatcher's debut for the company. WWE announced back on February 4 that they had signed Thatcher and Killer Kross, and that the two had reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

The storyline for tonight's title defense saw Pete Dunne name Thatcher as his temporary replacement. NXT General Manager William Regal previously ordered Dunne and Riddle to pick a temporary replacement because Dunne is stuck in the UK and unable to defend due to coronavirus-related travel restrictions.

There's no word yet on how long Riddle and Thatcher will be teaming, but we will keep you updated.

Speaking of NXT, they have a loaded show in store for next week.
  • Velveteen Dream will take on Finn Balor next week on WWE NXT. That isn’t the only match that fans can expect.
  • El Hijo Del Fantasma vs Jack Gallagher will go down next week. KUSHIDA will take on Tony Nese. Drake Maverick will also wrestle Jake Atlas. All three matches will be a part of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship round robin tournament.
  • Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox will also team up to face Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.
- Add Performance Center coaches Serena Deeb, Kendo Kashin and Chris Guy (Ace Steel) to the list of wrestlers, creative writers, producers, referees and other talent released today by WWE.
