Fans are already upset at the announcement of AEW using the “Bash at the Beach” name since it was the name of a WCW pay-per-view and WWE purchased the WCW library.
WWE did not own the Bash at the Beach name so the name was up for grabs. The name was trademarked by Cody Rhodes and will be used for AEW’s “nine-day extravaganza” that includes two Dynamite shows. One will take place on Chris Jericho’s cruise and the other episode of Dynamite will take place in Miami, Florida.
In addition to the Bash at the Beach name, Cody Rhodes (Runnels) owns the following trademarks:

Dusty Rhodes
Battlebowl
Bunkhouse Stampede
The Prince of Wrestling
The Match Beyond
The Match Beyond was the name often used in reference to WCW’s War Games matches and there was a reference to The Match Beyond in a recent Cody Rhodes promo on AEW Dynamite so we could see AEW’s version of the War Games match at some point.
The Bunkhouse Stampede tournament, created by Dusty Rhodes, ran from 1985 through 1988. The 1988 championship aired on the Bunkhouse Stampede pay-per-view in 1988.
The standalone Battlebowl pay-per-view took place on November 20, 1993 and featured eight tag teams that were randomly paired together after a drawing from the “Lethal Lottery” bowl. The concept was also used at various Starrcade events.
