Backstage News On Bobby Roode’s WWE Contract Status, News on The Recent NXT Call-Ups

– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned the recent NXT call-ups of Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, The Vaudevillains and Enzo & Big Cass were all planned since February, if not earlier in the year, but the actual debut dates were never finalized.

Some of the talents involved were scheduled to fly back to Orlando the day after Wrestlemania before plans were changed to have them on RAW instead.

– Bobby Roode recently took part in an interview with the Peterborough Examiner and denied rumors that he has already signed a WWE contract. As noted Roode said:

“I’m not officially signed yet. The Internet has blown up over it, and I mean, I’m close, but I don’t want to spoil anything or ruin anything. I want to wait until it’s official. I don’t want to jinx anything either.”

Roode may have shot down the rumors, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the denial might not mean much. Roode, like other new talents, are told to deny reports and avoid telling people they’ve signed until WWE can formally announce it themselves, and even if it’s only a verbal agreement with Roode at this point, he would still have to deny it anyway.

Dave Meltzer recently speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Roode will be offered a similar deal to the ones recently signed by Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.
