– Today marks 20 years since the nWo took over WCW Monday Nitro for the first-ever (and only) nWo Monday Nitro on December 22, 1997.
At the time, WCW was launching Thunder on Thursday nights and the plan was for Nitro to be an nWo-branded show while Thunder would be WCW. Eric Bischoff was set to face Larry Zbyszko at Starrcade that Sunday with the stipulation that Bischoff would get control of Nitro for the nWo if he were to win. The episode above was done as a test and the rating sharply dropped, which caused WCW to quickly change their plans. Zbyszko went on to defeat Bischoff and Nitro remained a WCW-branded show for the rest of its existence.
– Dean Ambrose is already back home recovering from the surgery he had on Tuesday in Alabama to repair a triceps injury. PWInsider notes that Ambrose was spotted in Nevada this week, where he lives with wife Renee Young. While WWE has not announced when Ambrose might return, the hope is that he will be back in 2-3 months.
– WWE has a new poll asking fans which WWE NXT Superstar is most likely to make an impact on RAW or SmackDown in 2018 – WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne, SAnitY, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay, The Authors of Pain, No Way Jose, Aleister Black or Kassius Ohno. As of this writing, 40% voted for Black while 17% voted for Akam & Rezar, 12% voted for Dunne, 12% for SAnitY, 9% for The Iconic Duo, 5% for Ohno and the rest for Jose.
