UFC fighter Josh Barnett is set to make his TNA debut at tonight’s Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando.
Barnett is currently serving a temporary USADA suspension over an out-of-competition drug test he took on December 9th. Barnett has done pro wrestling on & off in Japan for several years but this will be his debut for a national US promotion. He also does commentary for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
It’s believed Barnett will do some kind of angle with Bobby Lashley tonight, which would be very interesting as a wrestling feud between a Bellator fighter and a UFC fighter. Barnett defeated Lashley in Tokyo back in 2011 during a tournament to crown a new IGF pro wrestling world champion, but later lost in the finals.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross tweeted the following on Barnett going to Orlando today:
Good luck to my @AXSTV partner @JoshLBarnett who is #Orlando bound. I feel an #Impactful fight brewing.— Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) January 12, 2017
