Former WWE Champion AJ Styles is still hopeful and in the plans for this year’s WrestleMania.
As seen at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park, Styles was injured in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match when Styles landed awkwardly on his shoulder after taking a spear from Edge. An audible was made and he was tossed out of the ring shortly thereafter, which wasn’t planned.
It was reported earlier this week that Styles has a shoulder separation This means he will need to take time off.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Styles is optimistically four-to-six weeks away from a full recovery. It was also noted that Styles didn’t blame Edge for the injury because he wanted to take a big bump for the spot and simply just landed wrong.
This comes after Styles had to miss time after WrestleMania 35 when he suffered a hip injury following his match with Randy Orton.
WWE holds the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium.
