– As noted, WWE has announced that Kevin Owens sustained injuries to both knees when Bobby Lashley viciously wrapped Owens’ legs around a turnbuckle after their match on last night’s RAW.
Dave Meltzer noted how Owens’ latest angle is a “classic injury angle” which means it’s a work. Therefore, Owens isn’t injured in real life, he’s just playing a part. But it could still keep him off of television for a bit giving him some much-needed time off.
“He kept working over his knee over and over again he kept slamming it into the post after the match. I mean it’s a classic injury angle. I don’t know if it’s Kevin out for a couple weeks.”
“Now he’s a babyface except I don’t think they’re going to keep him a babyface cause — well they could who knows?”
– As noted, The Rock is in talk to appear at WWE Smackdown 1000 on October 16.
Joe Peisich said on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast that The Rock “will be back” for SmackDown 1000, but in a very interesting development, he might also set up for something much bigger not too far down the road.
“The Rock also may do something that will lead to possibly a match maybe at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, maybe WrestleMania at the 1000th episode of SmackDown there.”
