Motor City Machine Guns Take 1-0 Lead Over FTR At AEW WrestleDream

The iconic rivalry between two of modern professional wrestling’s greatest tag teams officially kicked off at AEW WrestleDream. In match one of their highly anticipated best-of-five series, The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) secured a monumental victory over FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to take an early 1-0 lead.

High-Octane Action In Historic First-Ever Tag Team Meeting

After agreeing to the best-of-five series on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, both teams crossed paths in traditional 2-on-2 tag team competition for the very first time in their storied careers. While they were previously on opposing sides during a trios match at AEW All Out 2022, this initial encounter set a remarkable benchmark for the series ahead.

The closing sequence saw FTR look to capitalize with their signature Shatter Machine, only for Shelley and Sabin to scout the move and block it mid-execution. The Machine Guns immediately unleashed a rapid-fire combination attack on Cash Wheeler before putting him away with a devastating double package powerbomb to score the decisive three-count.

With the victory, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin draw first blood in the five-match series, putting FTR on the defensive as the two teams prepare for their next encounter.
