Will Ospreay Outlasts Seven Challengers in Clockwork Carnage Match at AEW WrestleDream

Will Ospreay successfully defended the AEW World Championship at AEW WrestleDream 2026, outlasting seven of the promotion’s top stars in an extraordinary, high-octane Clockwork Carnage Match.

The innovative match structure pitted Ospreay against Samoa Joe, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet, and Darby Allin.

Stage One: Early Eliminations and High-Flying Warfare

The bout kicked off with Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita trading heavy strikes, setting an intense pace from the opening bell. United Empire stablemate “Speedball” Mike Bailey entered third, aligning with Ospreay to double-team Takeshita before Ricochet, Darby Allin, Kazuchika Okada, and Adam Copeland joined the fray.

The match’s first stage saw brutal spots, including Allin using a skateboard to take down Ricochet and setting up tables on the outside. However, the elimination phase proved costly for two competitors:

  • “Speedball” Mike Bailey was the first star eliminated after Takeshita caught him with a Blue Thunder Bomb and followed up with a Raging Fire.
  • Konosuke Takeshita was eliminated shortly after when Okada struck him with a Rainmaker.

Stage Two: Scramble for Points Under the 15-Minute Clock

With Samoa Joe entering as the eighth and final participant, the second stage commenced—triggering a strict 15-minute clock where each pinfall or submission yielded one point.

Samoa Joe immediately made his presence felt, locking in a pinfall on Allin after landing a devastating Muscle Buster to gain the first point. Chaos ensued as the remaining six stars traded points in rapid succession:

  • Ricochet stole a point by pinning Allin.
  • Kazuchika Okada struck Copeland with a Rainmaker to claim a point.
  • Will Ospreay connected with a Styles Clash on Ricochet to notch his first point.
  • Darby Allin answered back with a Coffin Drop onto Ospreay and a quick Crucifix Bomb on Copeland to surge to 2 points.
  • Will Ospreay answered with a Hidden Blade to Allin to tie the scoreboard.

Out at ringside, Adam Copeland put Ricochet through a table with a colossal Spear. Back inside, Samoa Joe forced Ospreay to submit to the Coquina Clutch, tying the leaderboards at 2 points apiece alongside Joe and Allin.

Final Seconds: Ospreay Seals the Victory

Copeland mounted a dramatic late surge, delivering back-to-back Spears to Joe and Ricochet to climb to 2 points as the final seconds wound down.

However, with time practically expired, Ospreay struck Copeland with a sudden, devastating Hidden Blade. Ospreay hooked the leg and scored the final three-count just before the buzzer sounded, securing his 3rd point and claiming total victory as the clock ran out.

Final Scoreboard:

  • Will Ospreay: 3 Points (WINNER)
  • Samoa Joe: 2 Points
  • Darby Allin: 2 Points
  • Adam Copeland: 2 Points
  • Ricochet: 1 Point
  • Kazuchika Okada: 1 Point
