A major legal update has emerged regarding the ongoing criminal battery case involving WWE Superstar Ludwig Kaiser, who is currently also competing as El Grande Americano.
Following a Florida judge’s recent decision to deny the defense’s motion to dismiss the charges, a brand new court filing submitted on Thursday, October 22, has revealed fresh details about the evidence entering the system.
According to official court dockets, Assistant State Attorney Juanda Padgett filed a “Notice of Supplemental Discovery,” confirming that the State of Florida has officially handed over four additional pieces of evidence to Kaiser’s legal team.
These new materials consist of photographs showcasing injuries allegedly suffered by Richard Reap, the man who accuses the WWE star of attacking him during a heated altercation at an Orlando apartment complex earlier this year.
The photographs reportedly document damage to Reap’s right elbow, an apparent head injury across two separate frames, and a visible injury to his right side. Furthermore, a CD was entered into evidence during a hearing this week, which insiders speculate could contain crucial surveillance footage from the scene.
Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, is facing a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from the April confrontation. While Kaiser’s attorneys previously attempted to have the entire case thrown out under Florida’s famous “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law, the judge’s denial means the criminal proceedings are moving full steam ahead.
Court records indicate that a pre-trial conference is now locked in for December 17, 2026, with a tentative trial window scheduled from January 4 through January 22, 2027.
Interestingly, recent notices were also sent to fellow WWE Superstar Gunther, who is procedurally tied to Ludwig Kaiser after posting his teammate’s $1,000 bond back in May. Despite the looming trial dates, the former Imperium member remains free to travel and continue his regular television bookings.
