The NXT brand has seen a distinct shift in attitude from Wren Sinclair in recent weeks, as the rising star drops her previous persona in favor of a much more aggressive edge. This transformation arrives at a massive moment, with Sinclair positioning herself for the biggest match of her career as she prepares to challenge for gold at Halloween Havoc.
A Long-Awaited Attitude Shift
While speaking with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Sinclair discussed her character evolution and the frustrations that sparked her change. According to Sinclair, constant social media negativity paired with physical disrespect in the ring finally pushed her to a breaking point. The endless stream of criticism on social media began wearing down her mindset and testing the patience she had maintained for months.
I definitely think so. I feel like we are people at the end of the day but when we are so publicly out there and on social media, the things that people say to you and the responses you get from people, it does affect you in a sense, Sinclair explained regarding the pressure faced by modern performers.
Standing Up and Firing Back
For Sinclair, absorbing continuous disrespect ran counter to who she is outside of the wrestling ring. Taking hits and staying quiet week after week wore down her personal boundaries, making the chance to finally fire back immensely satisfying.
Me to my core, I’m not going to let someone push me around. So, to get pushed around and eat it and to get pushed around and then eat it again, it definitely pulled on who I am as a person. So, I think I was very excited to finally bite back in lack of better terms, she added.
Armed with this fresh intensity, Sinclair aims to capitalize on the biggest opportunity of her career when she steps into the ring for her championship showdown at Halloween Havoc.
