AEW New Year’s Smash Moving to Historic Two-Night Friday and Saturday Event for 2027

All Elite Wrestling is planning a massive holiday shakeup to kick off the new year. The company officially confirmed on Friday that AEW New Year’s Smash will expand into a special two-night blockbuster event to ring in 2027. This major television special will begin with a rare Friday night edition of AEW Dynamite on January 1, 2027, immediately followed by AEW Collision on Saturday, January 2.

Both high-profile broadcasts will emanate live from the Gateway Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. This announcement marks a significant scheduling shift for Tony Khan’s promotion, as Dynamite will move away from its traditional Wednesday night time slot to broadcast live on New Year’s Day. In their official statement, the company hyped up the market return, asking Atlanta fans if they are ready for two consecutive nights of intense live action.

Alongside the dates, the promotion revealed the official ticket on-sale schedule for fans looking to attend the double-header. VIP and premium seating early access is scheduled to open on Tuesday, October 27, at 10 a.m. ET, with regular presales launching the following morning on October 28. General public tickets for the AEW New Year’s Smash weekend will officially go on sale on Friday, October 30, via AEWTix.com. While no official match card or talent lineups have been locked in yet, the unique holiday weekend scheduling is already creating major buzz across the industry.
