Chris Jericho Cast as Gorgeous George in Upcoming Prime Video Muhammad Ali Series

AEW star Chris Jericho will portray wrestling legend Gorgeous George in a new Prime Video series, landing another major acting role from professional wrestling history. Deadline reports that Jericho will guest star as the iconic character in “The Greatest,” an upcoming limited drama.

The eight-episode drama chronicles the legendary life of boxing icon Muhammad Ali, with all episodes set to drop simultaneously on November 4. Gorgeous George’s theatrical flair, unmatched charisma, and exceptional microphone skills famously served as a massive inspiration for a young Muhammad Ali early in his career. The real-life George enjoyed a historic wrestling career that spanned from his debut in 1932 until his retirement in 1962.

Jericho is set to bring the flamboyant pioneer to life in the fourth episode of the series, sharing the screen with Jaalen Best, who portrays Ali. This project marks another high-profile television credit for Jericho, who continues to expand his Hollywood portfolio following recent appearances in CBS’ Tracker, Apple TV’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and a confirmed role in the upcoming second season of Dexter: Resurrection.
