Trey Miguel Earns TNA World Title Shot Against Leon Slater at Destination X

Following a high-stakes multi-man ladder match on the October 15 episode of iMPACT, Trey Miguel is officially scheduled to challenge Leon Slater for the TNA World Championship at Destination X.

In the main event, a chaotic ladder match featured Elijah, Trey Miguel, Jason Hotch, Moose, and Ricky Sosa colliding for a championship opportunity. The chaotic finish saw Moose powerbomb Sosa onto a ladder, followed by Elijah striking with a top-rope guitar shot. Interference soon broke out when an aggrieved Nic Nemeth—furious over his exclusion from the bout—attempted to steal the contract. Miguel intercepted Nemeth, blocked a superkick, and dropped him with the Lightning Spiral before scaling the structure to retrieve the contract.

The Road to Destination X

The victory sets up a high-profile clash for TNA’s flagship autumn event.

  • The Challenger: The 32-year-old Miguel is a former International, X-Division, and Tag Team Champion, but is hunting for his first-ever TNA World Championship reign.
  • The Champion: Leon Slater captured the gold from Nic Nemeth at Bound for Glory to kick off his inaugural World title run.
  • History: This will mark their third career singles meeting and second under the TNA banner, following a no-contest decision back in June 2024.

As of writing, the World Championship bout between Leon Slater and Trey Miguel stands as the marquee announced match for TNA Destination X, scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2026, live from the Edmonton EXPO Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
