WWE Hall of Famer John “Bradshaw” Layfield (JBL) has shared high praise for The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh following his performance in the main event of the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide special event.
The supercard featured a star-studded main event where CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, and El Grande Americano teamed up to defeat Omos, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Something To Wrestle podcast, JBL praised McDonagh’s in-ring awareness, calling him one of the most underappreciated performers on the roster.
“I love this main event, and I am such a huge fan of JD McDonough,” JBL said. “I don’t watch a ton of wrestling, but when he [McDonagh] came down to Mexico, I’d watched him, but not just a ton of it.”
The former WWE Champion explained that witnessing McDonagh’s execution up close gave him a new level of respect for his control, movement, and ring generalship.
“Man, what an incredible talent that guy is,” JBL continued. “Man, he is so freaking good in the ring. The way he moves people around? He’s a general in there. You can see how he’s controlling the match.”
JBL questioned whether McDonagh receives the recognition he deserves within the wrestling community, noting that he stays away from online commentary and wrestling forums. Regardless of public perception, JBL believes McDonagh has earned every bit of praise coming his way.
“I mean, I’m just… he’s the man,” JBL added. “That guy is, I don’t know if he gets the credit or not. Cause I don’t read a lot of the stuff that’s out there, but whatever credit there is, he deserves every bit of it. That kid can go, I mean, really impressive.”
McDonagh continues to serve as a vital piece of The Judgment Day on Monday Night RAW, frequently teaming with Dominik Mysterio while anchoring multi-man feature matches across domestic and international events.
