Former TNA World Champion Tessa Blanchard is finally set to make her long-awaited debut for Major League Wrestling (MLW) following a previously aborted launch earlier this year.
The announcement was made official during the October 7 broadcast of CMLL Informa, confirming that Blanchard will step into an MLW ring on Saturday, November 7, at the highly anticipated Saturday Night SuperFight event in Chicago.
The upcoming booking marks a second attempt between Blanchard and MLW management to finalize a working relationship. MLW had previously entered extensive negotiations with Blanchard following her departure from TNA Wrestling earlier in the year, with discussions pointing toward a sustained run within MLW’s women’s featherweight division rather than a single appearance.
MLW began publicly teasing her arrival with “Coming Soon” video vignettes, originally slating her debut for September. However, her name was suddenly removed from all promotional material and event lineups prior to the show without an immediate public explanation.
Reports later revealed that the last-minute change involved diplomatic friction surrounding her standing with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where Blanchard has been competing as a featured international star. Concerns arose regarding how her MLW involvement was being presented alongside her commitments in Mexico.
With diplomatic hurdles cleared between the promotional partners, the door has reopened for Blanchard to anchor MLW’s upcoming marquee card. Since being released from her TNA agreement while time remained on her contract, Blanchard has concentrated on rebuilding her profile across international circuits, predominantly in CMLL.
Her appearance at Saturday Night SuperFight on November 7 will serve as a pivotal test to determine whether this date represents a one-off marquee appearance or the launching pad for a long-term storyline commitment within MLW.
