WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has opened up about training music megastar Travis Scott for professional wrestling, confirming that while the rapper demonstrated genuine physical aptitude during their sessions, scheduling conflicts ultimate halted his in-ring development.
Scott became a recurring figure on WWE programming in early 2025, debuting during RAW’s Netflix premiere before featuring prominently in top storylines. He was present at Elimination Chamber 2025 when John Cena executed a villainous turn against Cody Rhodes, and later interfered during the main event of WrestleMania 41, providing a crucial distraction that aided Cena in securing the Undisputed WWE Championship against Rhodes.
Following his high-profile television spots, reports surfaced indicating WWE was laying groundwork for Scott to make his official in-ring debut, with Booker T overseeing his ring training. However, the crossover match never materialized, and Scott was eventually phased out of upcoming creative plans.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T evaluated celebrity transitions into professional wrestling, contrasting Scott’s situation with outside stars who maintained dedicated training schedules.
“I was working with him. You see a lot of guys like Logan Paul, like Bad Bunny, Speed and they come in and do a lot of things. A lot of times it’s for them, but it’s not for everybody. And I think with Travis Scott, this guy got so much work, man,” Booker T explained.
The two-time Hall of Famer emphasized that Scott possessed the physical attributes to perform, but his relentless schedule outside of wrestling proved to be the deciding roadblock:
“He’s doing this, he’s doing that, he’s doing this, and then to try to do this. I think that’s what it was more than anything. After working with him just a couple of times, he could actually perform the work. I saw it with my own eyes. But I just think timing, compared to every other project he had going on, as well as his music, I just don’t think the timing was right.”
While Booker T validated Scott’s natural athleticism, WWE has no immediate creative plans for the rapper’s return to television or an in-ring debut.
