The 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will officially kick off on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, with Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) taking on the newly formed duo of Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in first-round action.
WWE hyped the opening-round contest across social media channels:
“Who do you got when Los Americanos and the team of @NoamDar & @Itsbbyromeo battle it out to kick off the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic TONIGHT on #WWENXT?!”
Over the weekend, WWE revealed the complete 14-team field competing in this year’s single-elimination tournament. Drawing talent across NXT, RAW, SmackDown, Evolve, and AAA, the bracket features a diverse mix of tag teams competing for the prestige of winning the coveted Dusty Cup.
Reigning NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project and AAA World Tag Team Champions El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno (The Wagner Brothers) have received first-round byes, meaning they will automatically advance into the second round.
As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce the full scheduling order for the remaining first-round matches.
