What Happened After 8/17 RAW Went Off the Air With Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns

The August 17 episode of RAW ended with Roman Reigns getting dropped in the middle of the ring, but the real story unfolded after the cameras stopped rolling.

Jacob Fatu didn’t rush to help Roman or The Usos. Instead, he quietly separated himself from the group and walked out alone, leaving a moment that looked even worse for Roman than the televised attack.

Jacob Fatu Roman Reigns Post‑Show Moment

Fan‑shot footage from after the show captured the aftermath. Roman was still recovering from the Samoan Spike while Jimmy and Jey Uso tried to regroup around him. Jacob stood in the corner, watching everything without stepping in. He didn’t check on Roman, didn’t join The Usos, and didn’t act like part of the family. After a few seconds, Jacob climbed out of the ring by himself and headed to the back without saying a word.

There was no confrontation, no dramatic speech, and no hesitation. Jacob simply chose not to stay with them.

That moment hit harder because of what happened minutes earlier. Roman had spent the closing segment treating Jacob like a weapon he could deploy whenever he wanted. Fatu jumped Solo Sikoa on command, only for Roman to repeatedly order him to stop. Roman then placed Ula Fala necklaces on Jimmy and Jey, calling them his “made men,” while Jacob stood off to the side looking disconnected from the celebration.

Then everything fell apart. Solo turned on Roman and hit him with a Samoan Spike instead of attacking LA Knight. The Usos tried to fight Solo, Knight joined the chaos, and eventually Knight blocked Roman’s Superman Punch before dropping him with the BFT. Through all of it, Jacob never moved. He stayed in the corner and watched Roman and The Usos get taken apart.

Even after Solo and Knight left together, Jacob didn’t suddenly jump in to help. He didn’t try to rebuild the unity Roman had been pushing. He just walked away.

The post‑show footage doesn’t confirm that Jacob is finished with Roman, but he isn’t acting like someone ready to fall back in line. Roman spent the night giving orders and rewarding The Usos. Jacob ended it by watching Roman get dropped and then leaving him behind. Roman may have a much bigger Fatu problem than he realizes.
