Triple H Explains How WWE WrestlePalooza on ESPN Came Together Under Tight Deadline – As noted, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque joined The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, to promote WWE WrestlePalooza, which takes place next Saturday, September 20, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The show will also mark WWE’s first pay-per-view special to air on the new ESPN app.
Levesque explained to McAfee that the event came together under a tight timeline, with ESPN specifically requesting a major WWE show for that date.
“There was a lot of thought, but it was in a brief period of time,” Levesque said. “We were sort of under the gun. As soon as we heard Indy was on the table and they had a date open, we were in. That was a no-brainer for us.”
He added that the process moved at an accelerated pace, with WWE needing to confirm the show and branding almost immediately. “We moved quickly on this whole thing. The whole thing came together very quickly. ESPN asked for the date, they wanted a mega-event, we said yes. We just had to pick a name and go.”
The WrestlePalooza lineup is already stacked with high-profile matches. Confirmed for the card are:
- Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena in what could be Cena’s final WWE match
- CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch in a blockbuster mixed tag team bout
- The Usos vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed of The Vision
- Stephanie Vaquer vs. Iyo Sky to crown the new WWE Women’s World Champion
With major names and historic stakes, WWE is positioning WrestlePalooza as a landmark event for both the company and its new partnership with ESPN.
