Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley Earn WWE Women’s Tag Title Shot – On the September 9 episode of WWE NXT, a high-stakes elimination match in the main event decided which team will challenge Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The bout featured Sol Ruca and her partner Zaria taking on The Culling (Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley) and Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx). Early on, things fell apart for the makeshift duo of Ruca and Zaria when miscommunication struck. Ruca inadvertently connected with the Soul Snatcher on her own partner, leaving Zaria vulnerable. Fatal Influence wasted no time capitalizing, as Fallon Henley tossed Ruca from the ring and Jazmyn Nyx secured the pin on Zaria, eliminating the team from contention.
The match then came down to Fatal Influence and The Culling. The deciding moment arrived when Izzi Dame delivered a crushing sitout powerbomb to Henley, scoring the decisive pinfall. With that, The Culling officially earned the right to challenge Bliss and Flair for the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
While WWE has yet to confirm the date of the title match, all signs point to it taking place soon, with next week’s NXT at Full Sail University appearing to be a likely setting.
The Culling’s victory marks another big step for the duo, as they now have the chance to dethrone Bliss and Flair, who remain one of the most dominant pairings in the women’s tag team division.
