Steve Maclin Vows to Defend TNA International Title Worldwide – Steve Maclin has big plans for the TNA International Championship following his historic win at TNA Unbreakable 2025. Maclin became the inaugural titleholder after defeating Eric Young and AJ Francis, and he’s now aiming to turn the championship into a truly global prize.
During an interview with Wrestling Infos, Maclin opened up about his ambitions to defend the title in other countries, although he acknowledged that the final decision rests with TNA management and independent promotions.
“I hope so. That’s up to independent promotions over there, but that’s also on TNA management to get us over there, to Germany, to everywhere in the UK, all over Europe, and all across the globe. I plan to make this an International Championship, a true international championship, and just try to defend it anywhere I can and also bringing in talent from all over the globe to TNA as well, to get them on television, to get those names that aren’t known very well, and to give them a shot. If they want a shot at this title, please step right up and cross that line,” Maclin said.
When asked if there were any imminent plans for international appearances, Maclin clarified that, for now, his schedule is focused on TNA and U.S.-based events.
“No, nothing yet. As of now, I’m pretty much fixed with my dates here in the States and also with my dates with TNA, which trumps everything. But if something was to come up, and an opportunity was to arise, I’m glad to take that opportunity. Just like winning the tournament at Unbreakable, that was an opportunity given to me by Santino, and I beat five other men to become the inaugural TNA International Champion, and like that, it’s an opportunity. So if you want an opportunity for me to come over there, you to come here, please, by all means, cross that line,” he added.
Maclin’s comments reflect a strong intent to elevate the TNA International Championship beyond North American borders, helping build the brand’s global presence while offering fresh opportunities for rising talent worldwide.
