Karrion Kross Reveals Why He Grew His Hair Back After WWE Return – Since returning to WWE in 2022, Karrion Kross has undergone a subtle but noticeable transformation — one that fans have particularly picked up on: his hair.
Originally debuting in WWE in 2020 with a fully shaved head, Kross later re-emerged with a significantly different look. By 2025, the former NXT Champion now sports a full head of hair, and in a recent interview with Fred Richani of The Sports Courier, Kross explained the reasons behind the change and whether growing it out had always been part of the plan.
“I initially shaved my head because I thought it suited the presentation of the character on the independents,” Kross explained. He also noted that growing up, he often buzzed his hair for combat sports like jiu-jitsu and boxing, saying, “To have a lot of hair when you’re doing jiu-jitsu and you’re always sweating and you’re doing boxing, it’s kind of a pain in the butt.”
The decision to grow it out came after his release from WWE. Kross revealed he was cast in a film where he was asked to portray an ex-military character based in New Mexico. Though production has been delayed, the character’s look inspired Kross to keep his longer hairstyle after re-signing with WWE.
Kross added that he would consider shaving his head again if the story was right — or if he were donating his hair to charity, which he’s seriously considered. As for a possible hair vs. hair match, Kross laughed and replied, “I would really prefer not to do that. Seems like such a waste.”
