Matt Riddle Hints at Possible WWE Return – In a recent interview with Steven Muelhausen of SI Takedown, Matt Riddle was asked whether he would consider a return to WWE in the future.
“The chances of me going back, I think they’re extremely high,” Riddle said. “If CM Punk, who filed a lawsuit against WWE, and then raked them through the mud for a decade, then goes to the competition, I’ll tell you this, if he can do that, everything can be forgiven. I know I wasn’t the easiest to work with at times. I think the door is always open.
“I think the longer I’m away, the harder I work, and the more I do, the more likely I could come back. But I’ll also say this, if I never go back ever again, and they never talk to me again, I’ll be ok with that.”
Riddle was released by WWE in September 2023 following a period of controversy. Prior to his departure, Riddle made headlines when he accused an officer at JFK Airport of sexual harassment in an Instagram post, which he later deleted on September 10. The incident reportedly involved Port Authority officers responding to a call about a disorderly passenger who was deplaning, with Riddle being identified as the individual in question. An internal investigation was launched following the accusation.
Since leaving WWE, Riddle has been active on the wrestling circuit, competing in promotions such as MLW, NJPW, and various independent events. His performances have drawn attention, as he remains a well-known figure in the wrestling world.
Riddle is set to face Tom Lawlor in a No-holds-barred Vale Tudo Match at MLW Fightland tapings on September 14.
