Tessa Blanchard Granted Release from TNA Wrestling

A notable change has taken place within TNA Wrestling, as former world champion Tessa Blanchard has officially exited the company.

According to Fightful Select, Blanchard requested her release and it was granted. No specific reason for her departure has been disclosed at this time.

End of Second TNA Run

Blanchard returned to TNA in December 2024, marking her first appearance with the promotion in four years. Her comeback followed a controversial exit in 2020, which had left a complicated legacy both on-screen and behind the scenes.

During her initial run, Blanchard made history at Hard to Kill 2020 by defeating Sami Callihan to become the first woman to hold the Impact World Championship. In addition to that milestone, she also held the Knockouts Championship, further cementing her place in the company’s history.

Her first stint came to an abrupt end in June 2020 when TNA stripped her of the world title and released her. That departure coincided with multiple allegations from fellow wrestlers, including claims of bullying and racism, as well as the alleged use of a racial slur. Blanchard denied those accusations at the time.

Status Following Departure

Blanchard’s return in 2024 reportedly drew mixed reactions backstage, with several talents said to be uneasy about her presence. Throughout 2025, she appeared intermittently on TNA programming while also competing internationally.

She has also been working with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, and her status with the promotion remains unchanged following her TNA exit, according to the same report.

At this stage, there is no confirmation on what Blanchard’s next move will be following her departure from TNA. Her exit closes another chapter in a career that has included both historic achievements and notable controversy.
