Ratings for 4/01 WWE RAW Episode – The April 1 episode of WWE RAW, featuring prominent appearances by The Rock and Roman Reigns, garnered an average of 1.78 million viewers and secured a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Despite its star-studded lineup, the show faced stiff competition from NCAA Elite Eight women’s college basketball tournament games and the pre-game show, which impacted its overall viewership.
A notable contributing factor to the lower viewership was the highly anticipated women’s college basketball game between Iowa and LSU, headlined by Caitlin Clark, which drew a staggering 12.30 million viewers and a 3.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This historic milestone in women’s college basketball drew attention away from RAW, significantly affecting its viewership numbers.
RAW’s first hour saw a strong performance, boosted by a commercial-free segment featuring The Rock and Reigns, attracting 1.95 million viewers and achieving a 0.65 rating in the 18-49 demographic. However, the subsequent hours experienced a notable decline, with a 16 percent drop from the first to the third hour, larger than usual for the show.
The decline in viewership over the course of the program can be attributed to the intense competition from the Connecticut vs. USC basketball game, which garnered 6.72 million viewers and a 1.81 rating during the last 90 minutes of RAW.
Comparing to the same week last year, RAW experienced a decline of 21 percent in viewership and 22 percent in the 18-49 demographic, largely due to the timing of WrestleMania being a week earlier. However, it is anticipated that next week’s RAW after WrestleMania will see a significant increase in viewership compared to last year’s post-WrestleMania episode.
The viewership breakdown for RAW on April 1 was as follows:
- 8 p.m.: 1.95 million viewers
- 9 p.m.: 1.76 million viewers
- 10 p.m.: 1.64 million viewers
