NXT Stars Train The Rock Ahead of WrestleMania 40 Match – The Rock’s highly anticipated return to the wrestling ring at WrestleMania 40 has garnered significant attention, with ESPN offering an in-depth look into his preparations.
As part of his training regimen, WWE arranged for two wrestling rings to be shipped to The Rock—one in Los Angeles and another at his home in Hawaii. While in LA, he trained with NXT’s Gallus, consisting of Mark and Joe Coffey, engaging in simulated matches to prepare for his comeback.
Assisting in his training were WWE producers Michael “P.S.” Hayes and Bobby Roode, along with referee Chad Patton. WWE Medical oversaw the rehearsals to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the training sessions.
“Suplexes, a launch off the top rope, a catch, like bodies hitting bodies,” Rock said. “It’s things like that that you have to do and have to prepare for. And you’re getting bruised up, you’re hitting the ropes. It comes back fairly quick. … It’s like riding a bike.”
