Backstage News on Matt Hardy’s AEW Contract – Matt Hardy’s status with AEW is currently up in the air as his contract is set to expire later this month.
The wrestling veteran, famously known as “The Broken One,” made his AEW debut in 2020 amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, he has been an integral part of the promotion’s roster, wrestling in over 40 matches in 2023 alone. However, his television appearances have been limited in 2024, with only one match under his belt so far.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Hardy and AEW have been in discussions regarding a contract extension. However, as of now, no agreement has been reached.
It’s worth noting that Hardy’s brother, Jeff Hardy, also had his AEW contract set to expire this month. However, due to time added from absences and injuries, his contract situation has been resolved.
Throughout his tenure with AEW, Matt Hardy has faced his fair share of injuries, which may factor into contract negotiations and future plans for both parties.
