At this pivotal event, Reigns unified the WWE and Universal Championships, creating the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.
Despite the company expanding its reach to international markets for these premium live events (PLEs), fans hoping for a change in Reigns’ participation might be disappointed. Notably, Reigns is not listed on the roster for the upcoming Elimination Chamber in Australia or the Backlash event scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines, France.
Currently holding the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, Reigns is set to defend his championship against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles at the upcoming Royal Rumble.
In a recent update on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided insights into Reigns’ future appearances, stating that the reigning champion is slated for select major events only. Specifically, fans can expect to see Reigns in action at the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, the upcoming Saudi Arabia show, and SummerSlam.
“Roman Reigns is not on the Australia show (Elimination Chamber). He’s not on the Paris show (Backlash) either, by the way, for fans over there. He’s gonna be wrestling at the Royal Rumble, and then his next big match, I don’t know…he could do a TV match, but he’s gonna wrestle at the Royal Rumble, and then his next match is gonna be his WrestleMania match. And after that, I would presume it’s gonna be Saudi and SummerSlam.”
