Carmelo Hayes’ Availability Uncertain for Tonight’s NXT – Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network is expected to feature a loaded lineup, including two Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic quarterfinal matches. However, there is uncertainty surrounding Carmelo Hayes’ ability to compete in his scheduled match.
Hayes is set to team up with Trick Williams to face Malik Blade & Edris Enofe in one of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic quarterfinals. The uncertainty arises from an incident during last week’s SmackDown, where Hayes faced Austin Theory. A move went wrong, resulting in Theory landing on his head and Hayes landing awkwardly. Theory is currently undergoing medical protocols.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Hayes’ status for tonight’s show is still uncertain. If he is not medically cleared, it is likely that he will be pulled from the scheduled match. The situation will likely be clarified closer to the start of the show.
“So Hayes, as of today, was questionable for that match. Yeah, I mean, they weren’t sure one way or the other if he was going to be able to do it,” Meltzer stated.
