NXT Deadline Results 12/9/2023 – We are live from The Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT, as Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring to start the show.
Shawn welcomes everyone and he mentions this is the last pay per view of the year. He asks if you are ready and then he asks again…
CM Punk music plays and he makes his way to the ring. It’s pandemonium in Bridgeport!
Punk apologizes Shawn for stepping on his gimmick. Punk asks who would have thought the two of them in the ring together. Shawn comments on Punk’s hoodie since it is pink. Punk says Shawn made up with Bret and he even made up with Hunter. Punk says he was backstage and a few people came up to him and said they grew up watching him and took a selfie. Punk says it is his turn to do it with Shawn. Punk says since he missed his flight, he figured he would stop by to talk to him in person. Will he go to Raw or Smackdown or will he be the newest NXT Superstar?

NXT North American Championship Match:
Dominik Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee
We hear the familiar sounds of Dragon Lee’s theme music. Out comes the rising WWE Superstar and masked fan-favorite. As he settles in the ring, WWE Hall of Fame legend Rey Mysterio is introduced alongside Booker T and Vic Joseph on special guest commentary.
Now the familiar sounds of Dominik Mysterio’s entrance tune hits and out comes the reigning and defending NXT North American Champion. “Dirty” Dom settles into the ring and his music dies down. The ring announcer handles the formal pre-match ring introductions for this championship contest and then the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running.
Dom has some words for Lee and he bumps heads with Lee. Dom misses a punch and Lee with punches. Lee with a head scissors take down and Dom goes to the floor. Lee with a flip dive onto Dom. Lee with a slingshot head scissors and a leg sweep and hesitation kick for a near fall. Lee with a chop in the corner. Lee goes for a Fujiwara arm bar and Dom gets to the ropes to force a break. Lee with a splash in the corner followed by punches. Dom sends Lee over the top rope and Lee’s leg gets caught on the top rope. Dom gestures to Rey and tells him to watch. Dom punches Lee on the floor and sends him back into the ring. Dom with kicks to Lee. Dom with a hard Irish whip and then Dom goes to the turnbuckles to pose and he gestures to his father. Dom gets a near fall. Dom with a reverse chin lock. Lee with punches.
Dom pulls Lee down by the back of the mask. Dom throws his shirt from around his waist at Lee. Dom punches Lee. Dom kicks Lee many times. Dom goes to the apron and he does the Eddie shimmy in front of the announce table. Dom with a slingshot senton for a near fall. Dom with crossfaces to Lee and applies a reverse chin lock. Dom with a suplex and he holds on for the second and rolls over before hitting it. Dom rolls over and goes for the third but Lee blocks it for a moment. Dom hits the third suplex for a near fall. Dom sets for a superplex but Lee stops him and Dom hangs from the turnbuckles. Lee with a double stomp off the turnbuckles and Dom lands on the apron before going to the floor. The referee makes his count and both beat the count at nine. Lee with punches and a flying forearm. Lee sends Dom onto the turnbuckles and Lee with a super kick. Lee with a hesitation drop kick in the corner.
Lee puts Dom on the turnbuckles and puts him in the tree of woe. Lee with a double stomp but Dom has his hand on the rope to stop the count. Lee runs into a drop kick from Dom for a near fall. Lee with a snap German suplex and a jumping knee. Lee goes for the power bomb but Dom blocks it and hits a power bomb of his own for a near fall. Dom catapults Lee into the ropes and he points at Rey. Dom misses the 619 and Lee floats over and hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Lee with Destino for the three count.

After the match, the commentators point out how Dom lost the title the first time The Judgment Day wasn’t at ringside. Dragon Lee celebrates his title win with Rey Mysterio at the commentary desk and then we head into a quick post-match commercial break.

Out comes Valkyria but before she can make it to the ring, Cora Jade makes her surprise return and attacks her from behind. She leaves her laying and poses over her with her NXT Women’s Championship.
Backstage:
Carmelo and Trick are in the locker room. Hayes says he is locked in. He tells Trick to stay in the back. Trick tells Hayes to make sure he takes care of business. Hayes says King tried to set him up and he will take care of him.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Lexis King
Back inside the arena, Lexis King’s theme hits and out comes the son of the legendary late, great “Flyin'” Brian Pillman. He settles in the ring for his NXT PLE in-ring debut here at Deadline 2023.
The theme for the former multiple-time NXT World Champion hits and out comes Carmelo Hayes. He makes his way to the ring and settles inside. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with our next match of the evening.
King tries to shake hands with Hayes, but Hayes slaps it away and says something about King attacking Trick and him not wanting to shake his hand.
They lock up and Hayes with a side head lock and take down. Hayes with a shoudler tackle but King with a punch. Hayes with a double leg take down and punches to King. King goes to the floor. King tries to pull Hayes out of the corner for a power bomb but Hayes counters with a head scissors. They go to the floor and Hayes with a punch. King chops Hayes but misses and hits the ring post. Hayes slams the hand into the apron and stomps on the hand on the ring steps. King with a chop and Hayes kicks King away. Hayes with a chop and King with a knee to the midsection. Hayes with an enzuigiri. King sends Hayes over the top rope and King with a drop kick through the ropes. King sends Hayes into the ring steps and he kicks Hayes against the steps.
King has Hayes face first in the turnbuckles while he has his feet in Hayes’ back. King gets a near fall. King pie faces Hayes and Hayes stomps on the hand. King has Hayes in the turnbuckles and hits a springboard double stomp for a near fall. Hayes with punches and King with a knee to the midsection and a running knee to the back for a near fall. King with a single leg crab. King avoids a clothesline and he hits a back breaker. King with another back breaker. King wants Hayes to shake his hand and Hayes flips him off and head butts King. King backs Hayes into the turnbuckles and puts him on the turnbuckles. King with a chop and he goes to the turnbuckles. King with a clothesline and both men fall off the turnbuckles and go to the floor. King with chops and Hayes blocks a chop and he chops King.
Hayes with a rollup for a near fall. Hayes with a springboard clothesline. Hayes with a forearm in the corner and La Mistica for a near fall. Hayes with a front face lock and King blocks a suplex. King with a jackhammer for a near fall. King kicks Hayes in the ribs and punches him. King goes for a suplex but Hayes lands on his feet and he pulls King to the mat. Hayes with kicks and he comes off the ropes but King with a kick to the head and a back breaker. Hayes goes up top and there is an exposed turnbuckle but Hayes hits Nothing but Net for the three count.

After the match, Hayes celebrates and begins heading to the back when he is stopped by King, who calls him out on the mic from the ring. Lexis King says it wasn’t him who attacked Trick Williams, but thanks him for the spot on the PLE tonight anyways. Hayes walks off. Cora Jade is with Kelly and she says that a lot of the people in the locker room are shocked. She is back after four months. She says she is going to take this place to a new level. She says she has made her intentions clear.

Now we return inside the arena where the ring announcer once again runs down the rules for an Iron Survivor Challenge match, as the Men’s installment is up now. When the rules explanation wraps up, Dijak’s theme hits and he comes out as the first entrant in the match.
Dijak’s theme dies down and then the entrance tune for the second entrant in the bout hits and out comes Josh Briggs. He makes his way to the ring and settles inside as well. The first two competitors in our second of two Iron Survivor Challenge matches are in the ring and ready to rock and roll. The bell sounds and we’re off.
They lock up and Josh with a rollup for a near fall. Josh and Dijak push each other and they lock up again. Dijak with a side head lock and Josh goes for a hip toss but Dijak lands on his feet. Josh does the same thing. Josh with a side head lock and shoudler tackle but Dijak bounces off the ropes with a shoulder tackle. They continue to go back and forth to a stalemate. Josh with a head scissors take down. Josh with an Irish whip and back elbow into the corner. Josh with a running boot to the head. Perez kicks James after James throws her purse at Perez.
The referee starts the match. James tries to send Perez into the cage but Perez stops her. James avoids being sent into the cage and she kicks Perez. James tries to catapult Perez but Perez reverses and catapults James into the cage but James starts to climb. Perez sends James into the cage and she gets a near fall. Perez with a forearm and Irish whip. Perez misses an uppercut in the corner and James tries to send Perez into the cage but Perez gets to her feet. Perez with a cross body off the ropes but James catches her and tosses Perez into the cage. James puts her hand in the cage and kicks at the hand a few times. James presses Perez’ face against the cage. Perez is sent into the cage by James. James pie faces Perez. James sends Perez into the mat. James with shoulders to Perez again the ropes and she sends the back of Perez’ head into the cage. James with a rear chin lock.
Perez with punches but James with a spinebuster for a near fall. James stands on the injured hand and she kicks Perez. Perez with punches. James punches back. James ties Perez in the ropes but Perez moves and James hits the cage. Perez goes to the turnbuckles and she hits a Thesz press and follows with a punch and drop kick. Perez sends James into the cage a few times. Perez sends James into all four sides of the cage. Perez with a running uppercut and forearm in the corner. Perez with a side Russian leg sweep. Perez with a European uppercut to the back for a near fall. Perez climbs the turnbuckles and she looks at the top of the cage. Perez climbs to the top of the cage. James climbs the turnbuckles and also goes to the top of the cage. They exchange punches on the top of the cage. James grabs Perez’ leg and brings her back into the cage. James sets for a power bomb and she runs Perez into the cage two times. Perez counters with Pop Rox but Perez cannot capitalize right away. Perez gets a near fall. Perez sets for another Pop Rox and she sends Perez into the turnbuckles. James tries to escape the cage and she gets a chair. Perez with a back heel kick and Perez has the chair. Perez is going to use the chair but Izzi Dame closes the door on Perez. James hits Perez with the chair and hits Dealmaker with the chair for the three count.

They lock up and Corbin backs Ilja into the ropes and Corbin with a side head lock take down. Ilja with a chop on the break and Corbin with a side head lock take down. Corbin holds on to the side head lock when Ilja tries to send him off the ropes. Corbin with a shoulder tackle. Corbin with a side head lock take down. Corbin picks up Ilja and gets him on his shoulders. Ilja with elbows to escape and Ilja with a waist lock. Corbin blocks a German suplex attempt. Cobin with a waist lock and he hits a DDT. Corbin hugs Ilja and he hits a uranage. Corbin with a dragon sleeper. Corbin with a gut buster. Corbin returns to the Dragon Sleeper and Ilja with knees to escape. Corbin with punches to the ribs. Ilja with a forearm and he connects with more. Corbin with a punch and he grabs Ilja by the throat for a choke breaker but Ilja counters with an enzuigiri. Ilja with a running knee to the head. Ilja goes up top and he hits the back senton and cannot capitalize right away. Corbin and Ilja exchange punche and forearms. Corbin with a clothesline and Ilja with a punch of his own.
Corbin with a chop and Ilja chops back. Corbin with a forearm and Ilja with a chop. They go back and forth with chops and forearms. Ilja wants more and Corbin with a forearm. Ilja with a punch. Ilja with chops in the corner and he goes Kobashi. Ilja with a running face wash. Ilja with a German suplex for a near fall. Ilja sets for a power bomb but he cannot get Baron up and he falls to the match while Corbin goes to the apron. Ilja with a running boot to the head. Ilja goes to the turnbuckles and he pulls Baron up for a superplex attempt. Corbin stops him but Ilja with head butts. Corbin with a choke slam off the turnbuckles and Corbin falls to the mat and crawls over to get a near fall. Corbin with a dragon sleeper and he adds a body scissors. IIlja gets to his feet and sets for a reverse suplex but Ilja lands on his feet. Ilja gets Baron up and he hits a Death Valley Driver into the turnbuckles.
Ilja sets for Torpedo Moscow and Baron with Deep Six for a near fall. Baron gets Ilja up and hits a Death Valley Driver. Baron with a brainbuster for a near fall. Baron sets for End of Days but Ilja gets ot his feet. Ilja gets Baron up but cannot properly hit a power bomb. Ilja with a power bomb. Ilja goes up top and he waves to Baron and hits a Coast To Coast on Baron but Ilja cannot capitalize. Ilja sets for Torpedo Moscow but Baron counters and tries for End of Days. Ilja counters into a DDT. Ilja with an H Bomb and a second one. Ilja sets for a third one and hits it. Ilja hugs Baron and he says something to him. Ilja gets back up and hits Torpedo Moscow for the three count.
Winner: Ilja Dragunov
After the match, Trick Williams’ music plays and he signals that he is coming for the belt, and he is joined by Carmelo Hayes.
