Early News on the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame – It seems like there’s a significant shift in the WWE Hall of Fame decision-making process. Vince McMahon, who historically handpicked inductees with input from those around him, will no longer have a direct role in this aspect.
As per Dave Meltzer’s report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Paul “Triple H” Levesque is set to take the reins for the selection of Hall of Fame inductees for the 2024 class. Levesque is expected to follow certain established guidelines, such as ensuring diversity by including at least one woman and minorities, while generally limiting the class to one deceased inductee. Historically, the WWE aimed for a recognizable headliner and sometimes made inductions based on political reasons or considerations. There’s also mention of Nick Khan’s influence, suggesting that inductions might align with certain preferences he holds. However, the ultimate decision-making authority now rests with Triple H within this framework.
Given Triple H’s appreciation for wrestling beyond WWE’s scope, there’s anticipation that he might consider names McMahon wouldn’t have previously inducted. Names like Demolition and Lex Luger could potentially enter the conversation. Demolition’s relationship with WWE was strained due to their involvement in a concussion lawsuit, making their induction uncertain. On the other hand, Luger’s recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump and his long-standing ambassador contract might improve his chances.
