CM Punk’s WWE RAW Return Promo Cut Short – On the 11/27 episode of WWE RAW, CM Punk appeared in the final segment of the show for his first promo since returning to WWE at Saturday’s Survivor Series premium live event, where he declared that he was home.
Punk only had a few minutes to talk about how he has changed and is a different person. He stated he was back for unfinished business and to prove to people that he is still the best in the world.
Many fans felt it was a different Punk than what we had been seeing in AEW and poked fun at it being the PG version of his character.
Pwinsider reports the initial plan was for a longer promo that would have given Punk more time. However, the Randy Orton vs. Dominik Mysterio match went longer than planned, and WWE cut Punk’s time, which is something that happens on a regular basis due to it being live television.
Punk delivered a more abbreviated promo than initially planned. Also, there were never plans for Punk to rip AEW or Tony Khan.
