WWE RAW Preview for 10/23

10/23 WWE RAW Results – We are live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX, as Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, Finn Balor and Damian Priest, make their way to the ring.

Finn welcomes everyone to Raw.  Finn says he is feeling good tonight and he is going to do something special.  Damian allows it.  Finn takes Priest’s line to tell everyone to rise for THE Judgment Day.  Priest says that wasn’t bad.  Priest says before people ask where is the rest of THE Judgment Day, they are in the clubhouse doing group business.  Priest says they are back to running Raw.

Cody Rhodes’ music interrupts and he makes his way to the ring.

Cody asks them how does it feel to get interrupted.  Cody says he has some choice words for the LEADER of THE Judgment Day.  Cody says he can see that Rhea is not out here.  Cody says he knows what they are going to say about there not being a leader.  It can’t be Little Dom Dom.  Rhea is your Mami too.  Cody says she is pulling all the strings and calling all the shots.  She is pulling all the deals, including with The Bloodline.  Cody says he would like to speak to Damian.  He says he believes Damian was the one who gave him a low blow.  If you thought that was the final shot in this fight, you are wrong.

Priest says it is convenient you forgot to mention that he put Cody through a table too.  Priest says he is glad Cody found him out here because he would have found him in the back.  There is a lot of talk about your story with THE Bloodline.  They sent Jimmy Uso after you and how did that work out.  There are people in your story who are in the ring now.  The story must be that you failed.

Cody asks if they should put that theory to the test now. Priest asks if we shouldn’t admit that he has a match with Jey tonight.  There is a big event coming up, so what about Cody versus him at Crown Jewel.  Cody accepts the challenge.  Cody asks what do they do now.  You are both standing in the ring now, so let’s give everyone a preview of Crown Jewel.

Priest says he likes that idea, and Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio make their way to the ring.

Jey Uso attacks Dom in the aisle.  Cody with punches to Priest and they go to the floor.  Cody sends Priest into the announce table.  Cody adjusts the announce table but JD McDonagh with a chop block.  Cody punches JD and Priest sends Cody into the steps and JD does the same.  Priest and JD punch Cody and Priest tells JD to go under the ring for a chair and he puts it against Cody’s ankle.  Priest swings and hits the chair and Cody goes down, moments before officials get to the ringside area to stop it.

We go to commercial.

– We are back with a Moments Ago Moment of The Judgment Day and Judgment Day Rocking Ranger JD McDonagh attacking Cody Rhodes.

– Adam and Jey are with Cody in the back and Cody says he is fine while Adam and Jey suggest he go to the trainer.

New Day vs. Alpha Academy

Chad and Woods start things off and Chad with a front face lock.  Woods escapes but Gable with a leg sweep.  Woods avoids a front face lock.  Gable with a waist lock take down.  Chad with an Irish whip but Woods gets his boot up and Woods with Honor Roll for a near fall.  Kofi tags in and they hit a series of kicks and splashes Chad and Kofi with a splash for a near fall.  Kofi kicks Chad away and Chad catches Kofi coming off the turnbuckles with an ankle lock.  Chad goes for a German suplex but Kofi blocks it.  Kofi lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt.  Kofi misses Trouble in Paradise and Chad clotheslines Woods over the top rope to the floor.  Otis with a clothesline to Kofi and a back body drop to Woods.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Otis misses a Vader Bomb with Kofi moves.  Woods and Chad tag in and Woods with a splash into the corner but Chad with a waist lock.  Chad with a double thrust to the throat.  Woods with a side Russian leg sweep and a back senton.  Woods with a kick to the midsection but Chad with a rollup for a near fall.  Woods gets Chad on his shoulders and hits a power slam for a near fall.  Chad blocks an Honor Roll and hits a series of German suplexes and gets a near fall after the third one.  Otis tags in and he gets Woods on his shoulders Chad with a bulldog off the turnbuckles and Otis gets a near fall.  Otis with a splash to Kofi’s back and the shirt comes off.  Otis with the Caterpillar and he hits the elbow drop.  Woods with a super kick and Otis blocks a second one.  Otis with a head butt and he misses a shoulder in the corner.  Otis hits the ring post.

Chad makes the tag and Woods doesn’t realize it.  Woods with a reverse Caterpillar and Chad with an ankle lock.  Woods tries to get to the ropes but Chad pulls him into the center of the ring.  Woods with a rollup for a near fall.  Otis tags in and Chad goes over the ropes when Woods drops down.  Otis goes for a power slam but Woods gets to his feet.  Woods with a super kick and Kofi with a springboard double sledge.  Kofi and Woods with a double super kick.  Kofi with Trouble in Paradise to Otis followed by a flip dive onto Chad.  Woods with a springboard elbow drop for the three count.

Winner: The New Day

Backstage:

Jackie is in the back with Becky Lynch and Jackie mentions Becky’s two title defenses this week. Becky says she comes looking for a fight when she is in Dallas.  Indi never lost her title and she never got her chance.  This is to show who has the mettle to face her.  If she has to defend the title every night.  She says she knows that Lyra is here tonight to poke holes in her game.  Becky says she cannot look past Indi.

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back with the Viking Raiders.  Valhalla says the Gods smiled upon a noble warrior.  Amidst the chaos, it served him.  When a warrior has proven his worth, he becomes a God walking among men.  With the wisdom of Odin and the power of Thor.  All will fear him.  All will tremble at the feet of the one true warrior . . . Ivar.

Backstage:

Seth Rollins walks in the back and he cackles. Seth stops and he sees Rhea Ripley. Seth says he doesn’t see her crew so he knows he won’t be jumped.  Seth says if you are looking for Drew, he is not here because Seth says he has style and the title.  He cackles.

Rhea says he knows there is a history between Seth and The Judgment Day.  It was about respect.  They tried to take the title from Seth and you won.  She says that Rhea is concerned about Seth and she says Seth needs an insurance policy. Seth says Rhea has lost faith in Damian.  That is why you are wheeling and dealing with The Bloodline and Drew.  Seth asks what would he want with Rhea.

Rhea says that Seth needs her.  Right now, you are ‘a’ world champion when you can be ‘the’ champion.  Alliances change.  If they join forces, Priest can cash in on someone else and they can hold all the gold.  Without them, Seth will never hold the title as long as Roman.  With your back the way it is, they can have Seth’s back and people can acknowledge him.

Seth says there is one thing that he does not want and that is to be anything like Roman Reigns. Rhea says that isn’t a no and she tells him to think about it.

Backstage:

Indi is with Candice and Natalya shows up and she wishes Indi luck.  Candice asks Natalya if she is looking for someone to replace Tegan.  Nattie mentions that Tegan got hurt last week on NXT.  Nattie says Indi is going to win the title she never lost.  Nattie says she is here to give any help or advice.

– Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

NXT Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Indi Hartwell

We see Lyra Valkyria in the crowd to watch her opponent for tomorrow night in action.

Indi misses a boot but connects with an elbow.  Becky misses a uranage and Indi with a clothesline.  Becky goes to the floor and she ends up in front of Lyra on the floor.  Becky with a forearm and she goes up top but Indi moves and Becky rolls through.  Indi goes for a slam but Becky escapes.  Indi escapes a DisArmHer attempt.  Indi with a hot shot and side slam while Candice watches MONITOR in LOCKER ROOM.  Becky with a leg lariat and Indi rolls to the floor.  Indi avoids a baseball slide and Indi swings Becky into the ringside barrier.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Becky sends Indi to the apron and connects with forearms.  Indi with a boot to the head and an elbow drop off the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Indi goes for a suplex but Becky with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Becky goes for DisAmrHer but she cannot get her to the mat.  Becky escapes a slam and hits a reverse DDT for a near fall.  Candice continues to watch MONITOR.  Becky sets for a uranage but Indi blocks it and goes for a full nelson.  Indi with a boot to the head for a near fall.  Indi goes to the turnbuckles and Becky with a forearm to stop her.  Becky goes to the turnbuckles and Indi with a forearm.  Becky with forearms and she hits a superplex.  Becky goes for a cross arm breaker but Indi blocks it.  Indi gets a near fall while Becky tries for a triangle.  Indi with a one arm power bomb for a near fall.  Becky sends Indi throat first into the ropes.

Indi with a spinebuster for a near fall.  Indi goes for a full nelson but Becky drops down and gets a near fall.  Indi gets a near fall.  Becky applies DisArmHer and Indi taps out.

Winner:  Becky Lynch

After the match, Becky offers her hand and Indi shakes it. Becky leaves the ring and walks over to Lyra Valkyria.

– Candice is in the back watching MONITOR.  Xia Li punches Candice in the throat and she tells Candice that is a warning to Indi.

Backstage:

Adam Pearce talks to security about the contract signing. Nick Aldis shows up and he wants to talk to Adam.  He says they got off on the wrong foot.  He apologizes for kicking Adam out of the building.  He blames it on a rookie error.  He says he wants healthy competition to be able to show that Smackdown is the number one show, but he doesn’t want to ruin their working relationship.  Nick apologizes. Adam says he felt that it was out of line on Friday, but it was water under the bridge.  Adam tells Nick to hang around to see how the flagship works. Adam tells the referee to double security.

We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Adam Pearce is in the ring with the official contract for the Women’s World Title match at Crown Jewel.  Adam mentions the chaos in the women’s division but they settle things in the ring.  He wants to get this signed before things go to hell so he brings out the participants in the match.

Raquel Rodriguez comes out first.  Raquel signs the contract.

She is followed to the ring by Shayna Baszler.  Shayna signs the contract.

Out next is Zoey Stark.  Zoey signs the contract.

She is followed by the final challenger, Nia Jax.   Nia wants to wait for Rhea to sign the contract.

Adam says Rhea is going to sign the contract later since she has caused a lot of the trouble.  She tells Nia to sign the contract so she gets to face Rhea at Crown Jewel.  Nia signs the contract.

Rhea Ripley comes out and she says she is not sorry she came out prematurely because she got a little impatient.  She has something to get off her chest.  She tells Adam she could beat everyone in the ring individually.  This is a conspiracy and you are trying to set her up.  The more you try to control her, the more she is going to make his life a living hell.  It is smart to make this a five way match at Crown Jewel.  By the end of this, you will have four fewer women in your division.  None of them are taking the title from her and she will show that she is the most dominant.

Nia says Rhea is good.  Nia says Rhea is smart not to step in the ring.  You want her to squash all of them for Rhea.  That leaves them one on one.  Nia says Rhea wants her to squash each of them for Rhea.  She says that Shayna and Zoey are smart.  She points out that Raquel is from Texas so she breaks it down for her.  

Raquel knocks the mic out of Nia’s hand and Raquel punches Nia.  Security holds Zoey and Shayna back.  All four women are in different corners.  Raquel and Nia take care of their security.  Shayna with a knee to Raquel and Zoey goes after Nia.  Nia with a head butt to Zoey while Rhea laughs at ringside.  

Raquel and Nia stand in the center of the ring and they exchange punches.  Security gets back in the ring and we have a scrum.  Nia and Raquel take care of security again and Nia with a Samoan drop to Raquel.

Backstage:

Kaiser tells Vinci that he needs him to deliver and get the job done.  He needs Vinci to take out Gargano tonight.  Kaiser says Vinci’s performance reflects on him.

Bronson Reed shows up and says that their boss gave him a hell of a fight last week and he tells Kaiser to tell his boss whenever he is ready for round two he is ready.

Akira Tozawa tells Reed he wants a match tonight.  Reed says no.  Tozawa tells Reed he wants a match and Reed tells Tozawa it is his funeral. Maxxine shows up and says that wasn’t what the Coach suggested.

We go to commercial.

Johnny Gargano vs. Giovanni Vinci

Vinci catches Johnny and runs him into the turnbuckles.  Vinci with chops.  Gargano with forearms and Vinci with European uppercuts.  Vinci catches Gargano and hits a tilt-a-whirl back breaker.  Vinci with a forearm to the lower back.  Vinci with a back breaker to Gargano and he hits another one followed by a fallaway slam.  Gargano has a kick blocked on the apron and Vinci with a kick to Gargano.  Gargano with a slingshot spear when Vinci charges at Gargano.  They exchange forearms and Vinci blocks a kick.  Gargano avoids a clothesline and Kaiser distracts Gargano.  Vinci hits Gargano from behind.  Gargano with a super kick.  Kaiser gets on the apron and Ciampa pulls him off the apron and into the ring post and time keeper’s area.  Gargano with a kick to Vinci and One Final Beat for the three count.

WInner:  Johnny Gargano

Backstage:

Shinsuke Nakamura says a beating at his hands is a beautiful thing.  He says he is happy to give Ricochet this experience.  He says he ants to find an opponent who will inspire the yet to be seen self within him and release the expressions still trapped in his dreams.  He asks who is worthy enough to set him free.

– Logan Paul makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Logan says he realized the fool he beat in his boxing fight over the weekend got dropped by his fight league.  Not only did Logan make him lose his fight, he lost his job.  Unemployed, unhappy, unfulfilled.  Logan says because he is a free agent, he might be a bit harsh.  Logan says he is a free agent.  Logan tells the haters to run to their keyboards because when he beats Rey Mysterio, he will give you something to talk about.  He says once he becomes champion, he might have to come to Raw to defend his title.

Dominik Mysterio interrupts and he comes out.

Dom says from a champion to a future champion he says he can’t wait to see Logan beat his deadbeat dad.  

Logan appreciates it and he says Dom’s dad was right about what he said about them.  Logan says Rey did not talk about what they had to deal wtih.  Dom grew up with a deadbeat dad to become champion of the continent.  Logan says he followed his passion and the only person who needs a humbling is Dom’s father Rey.

Dom says after Crown Jewel, Logan will be a champion and Dom says he will be the only Mysterio with a title.  

Logan says he can see it with him as US Champion.  Logan asks his favorite ring announcer to do the honors and he invites Samantha into the ring.  Logan says it was hard for her when she had to announce Logan as the winner against her fiance at SummerSlam.  He says she kept it professional.  He wants Samantha to give everyone a preview of him as the new US Champion.  

Ricochet spears Logan and Dom grabs Ricochet but Ricochet with a forearm.  

Dom misses a punch and Ricochet with a jumping knee.  Ricochet goes up top and goes for a shooting star press but Dom is pulled out of the way by Logan.

We go to commercial.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven vs. Natalya and Nikki Cross in a Non Title Match

Natalya and Green start things off and Nattie floats over.  Nattie with a rollup for a near fall.  Nattie goes for a Sharpshooter but Green blocks it.  Nattie gets a near fall and then Green gets a near fall of her own.  Green with an Irish whip and she runs into a back elbow.  Green hits Nattie in the back while Piper gets involved from the apron.  Green with a kick and Piper tags in.  Piper sends Nattie into the turnbuckles and hits a splash while Nikki stands motionless on the apron and stares straight ahead.  Piper with forearms and Green tags in.  Green with a forearm to the back and Piper with a clothesline.  Grteen gets a near fall.

Nikki leaves the apron and starts to walk away.  Green stares at Nikki’s departure and Nattie hits a German suplex.  Nattie sends Green into the turnbuckles and hits a slingshot atomic drop.  Nattie knocks Piper down on the apron and hits a discus clothesline for a near fall.  Green goes for UnprettiHER and Piper tags in.  Natalya goes for a Sharpshooter but Green with an UnprettiHER and a cross body from Piper for the three count.

Winners:  Piper Niven and Chelsea Green

– We are told that Cody suffered an ankle injury.

Backstage:

Jey Uso is in the back and Drew McIntyre shows up.  Drew says he is sorry for what happened last week.  He cannot imagine what it is like for the Bloodline to cost you a title.  He tells Jey to get over it.  Drew says whatever happens in his match with Sami is on Jey.

Back to commercial.

Backstage:

Miz shows up and he tells Adam Pearce he is the most must see superstar and Adam says he knows.  Miz says it has been a number of weeks since he has done anything on Raw.  He talks about what he has done.  Miz says Nick Aldis knows what Miz can do.

Rhea Ripley shows up with the signed contract and gives it to Adam.  She says she is taking Adam’s pen. Dom shows up and Rhea checks on what happened to Dom. We see Miz and Adam in the background.

Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn

They lock up and Drew backs Sami into the corner and Drew pats Drew on the chest on the break.  They lock up and Sami gets Drew in the corner and Sami pats Drew on the chest and Drew pushes back.  Sami with a side head lock and he tries for a shoulder tackle but Drew does not budge.  Drew tells Sami to try again and he has the same result.  Sami with a chop and then he runs into a shoulder from Drew.  Drew sends Sami into the turnbuckles and chops him.  Drew with another chop and Sami goes down.  Drew with another chop and Sami goes to the floor.  Sami pulls Drew to the floor and he sends Drew into the apron.  Drew Irish whips Sami to the ringside barrier and Sami lands on the barrier and hits a moonsault onto Drew.  Sami sends Drew back into the ring and Sami goes for a cross body but Drew catches Sami and hits a suplex.

Drew with a forearm to the back followed by chops.  Sami goes for a clothesline but he barely moves Drew.  Drew chops Sami to the mat.  Sami leap frogs Drew and hits a clothesline.  Sami with chops and forearms.  The referee warns Sami and Sami sends Drew to the floor.  Sami with a kick to Drew through the ropes.  Sami goes for a pescado but Drew catches Sami and Drew tosses Sami over the announce table.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Drew kicks Sami.  Sami blocks suplex attempts by Drew but Drew with a chop.  Sami lands on his feet on a suplex attempt and Drew charges into the corner and hits the ring post shoulder first.  Sami with a suplex and both men are down.  Sami clotheslines Drew over the top rope and then he hits a flip dive onto Drew.  Sami sends Drew back into the ring and he goes up top.  Drew punches Sami and sets for a super Air Raid Crash but Sami counters into a sunset flip power bomb.  Sami gets a near fall.  Drew blocks a Blue Thunder Bomb and Sami with forearms.  Drew with a head butt and he sets for the Claymore but Sami with a boot and a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.  Drew with a chop.  Sami goes for an exploder into the turnbuckles but Drew with elbows and two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes.  Drew with a neck breaker.  Drew sets for a Claymore, but . . . 

Rhea Ripley comes out to the ring.

Sami with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Sami with an exploder into the turnbuckles.  Rhea gets on the apron when Sami sets for the Helluva Kick.  Drew with a Claymore for the three count.

Winner:  Drew McIntyre

Backstage:

Nick Aldis is talking to Katana and Kayden and Adam interrupts and wants to talk to Nick.  Adam says he wanted Nick to watch and learn instead of talking to his superstars.  Nick says it was a friendly conversation.  NIck says he is going to take off.  They shake hands and Adam thanks Nick for coming.

Nikki Cross walks catatonically past Pearce and Pearce says he needs a drink.

We go to commercial.

Akira Tozawa vs. Bronson Reed

Tozawa with a chop and Reed feels nothing.  Tozawa with kicks to the leg and Reed sends Tozawa into the corner but misses a splash.  Reed with a running body block and an elbow drop.  Reed with a chop and a hard Irish whip.  Reed with an Irish whip and splash into the corner.  Reed with a biel.  Reed presses Tozawa over his head and drops Tozawa to the mat.  Reed misses a back senton.  Tozawa with strikes but he misses a few kicks.  Tozawa with a round kick and he goes for a waist lock.  Reed escapes and Tozawa with a head scissors that sends Reed into the ropes.  Tozawa goes up top and goes for a cross body but Reed catches Tozawa and hits a Death Valley Driver and a back senton.  Reed goes up top for Tsunami and the three count.

WInner:  Bronson Reed

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We shoot backstage and see Alpha Academy and The New Day looking at a special custom Dallas Cowboys title belt. In walks the DIY duo of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, who comment on the tag-team division on the Raw roster. They all focus on Akira Tozawa, mentioning how even though he lost tonight, he’s still a champion to them.

Backstage:

Now we shoot to a different area where we see Drew McIntyre walking. Seth “Freakin'” Rollins walks up clapping saying he saw McIntyre win his first match as “the newest member of The Judgment Day.” McIntyre brings up Rollins talking with Rhea Ripley earlier and says he didn’t see him turning her down. They both make it clear they’re not affiliated with The Judgment Day and declare the best man will win at Crown Jewel.

We go to commercial.

– Next week, Seth Rollins faces JD McDonagh in a non title match.  Xia Li faces Candice LeRae.  Gargano and Ciampa face Imperium.  Dominik Mysterio faces Ricochet in a non title match.

Jey Uso vs. Damian Priest

They lock up and Jey with punches.  Priest with a shoulder tackle and a forearm. Priest with a head butt and punch to back Jey into the corner.  Priest with an Irish whip but he misses a splash and hits the ring post.  Jey with a drop kick and he clotheslines Priest over the top rope.  Jey with a suicide dive and we go to commercial.

We are back and Priest with a reverse chin lock.  Jey with punches but Priest with an Irish whip and elbow into the corner.  Priest with a Broken Arrow for a near fall.  Priest has some words for Jey and Jey blocks a punch and he punches Priest.  Jey with forearms and Priest with a forearm.  They go back and forth.  Jey with a series of punches and Jey sends Priest into the corner.  Jey is sent to the apron and Priest is caught in the ropes.  Jey with a kick and he goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall.  Jey goes for a Samoan drop but he cannot get Priest up.  Priest with a forearm and a clothesline for a near fall.  Priest sets for South of Heaven and Jey with elbows to escape.  Jey with a back heel kick and then he punches Priest.  Jey with a Samoan drop for a near fall.  

Priest catches Jey on a suicide dive and Priest hits a flatliner onto the announce table.  Priest with a punch for a near fall.  Priest sets for the Razor’s Edge but jey gets to his feet and he spears Priest.  Jey goes up top for a frog splash and hits it but the referee sees Balor come to the ring so he doesn’t make the count.  Jey punches Balor and hits a suicide dive.  Priest punches Jey in the ropes and then Balor pulls Jey into the ropes in an uncomfortable position.  Priest with South of Heaven for the three count.

Winner:  Damian Priest

After the match, Balor attacks Jey and he goes up top for Coup de Grace and hits it. Priest tells Balor to get some chairs.  

Cody’s music plays and he gingerly makes his way to the ring and he sends Finn into the ringside barrier.  Cody with a drop down uppercut to Priest and then he clips Priest and hits him with the chair.  Cody punches Priest and then he puts the chair in Priest’s leg.  Cody gets another chair but Finn pulls Priest out of the ring.

We go to credits.
